Irfan’s 4th Lego Fun!

April 6th, 2010

Irfan’s birthday this year was planned a few months before. But because of his balinitis case and circumcision and what not, I was afraid that I wasn’t able to make it happen, but alhamdulillah, I managed to! Phewwww…

We invited family, close friends and some of Irfan’s classmates (most of them were away for their Easter holiday break) for lunch at Bianco, Damansara Perdana. Yes, that place yet again. :P Irfan had fun, we had fun and I think everyone else had fun too! Thanks to everyone who came and thanks for all the wonderful gifts. It was nice catching up, albeit sekejap, but it was great nonetheless. :)

Party ended at about 3.45pm and you’d have thought all the craziness has ended, kan? Wrong. While putting the stuff back into the car, Irwan ter-let go the car’s boot and it hit my forehead and I tergolek on the floor and was in a daze. I was quite unfazed too initially until I saw the amount of blood on the tissue! Went to SJMC and got the forehead stitched by the plastic surgeon. 3 stitches inside and 5 stitches outside. Oh well, like what the doctor said.. 8 is an ong number! :P Anyhow, all that matters is that Irfan had a great time on his birthday and let the pictures below speak for themselves. More photos can be found at Ted’s blog. And more and more photos will soon follow later on. Thanks again to everyone who made the party happen!!

Gadget boy is ONE! ;)

August 6th, 2009

So, the lil’ gadget boy has finally turned ONE! How fast does time fly, ey? Tsk. It was a small affair at Bianco but everyone had loads of fun! :) It has been 3 weeks in a row that I’m at Bianco and this weekend we’ll be there again for another birthday party and Irwan is amused that the people there know me by my first name. Hahahahahaha!

Anyways, Aaron and the kids dropped by on Sunday and they all had some fun time in the pool. And after that I had the yummiest fried chicken at BBQ Chicken as the chicken there are fried in olive oil! Yummy! And now I am craving for moreeeee..! :P

Happy 31st Birthday!

May 25th, 2009

Irwan turns 31 today, 25th May 2009 and I sort of surprised him with a makan-makan session at our place last Saturday night. He didn’t know what was happening - aside from me telling him not to have any plans that weekend as we are going to “Penang” - but figured it out on Saturday itself as he saw me arranging stuff and even followed me to pick up the food and cupcakes.

The main menu was sushi (got ‘em from Sakae Sushi and they even have party sets) with some KFC and pizzas. I, however, underestimated the food and some of the guests who came later weren’t properly fed. Tsk. So I decided to call McDonald’s and have them delivered some food, but even after 1 hour of ordering, the food still did not arrive!! Argh! I immediately called them to cancel and after 30 minutes I was informed by the guards that delivery has arrived. I told them to send the delivery boy back. Moral of the story: Never EVER ask for delivery from Pizza Hut (my mom had to wait for 2 bleedin’ hours!) or McDonald’s on a weekend! :P

Anyways, happy birthday babe and hope you had fun with your buddies! :)

p/s: Thanks everyone for making it happen!

p/p/s: Sorrylah, not that many pictures. I was busy goss-ing. Haha!

Irfan’s Robo Party!

April 8th, 2009

The party was done on the 4th of April - a day after his birthday - after 2 months (or more!) of preparations. Initially, it was suppose to start at 5pm, but since the rain has been pouring in the evenings, I changed the time to 1.30 p.m - 5 days before the party. Talk about last minute decision-making! Heh. So anyhow, I prepared most of the stuff myself - from the food to the favours to the invites (with some help from Etsy) to the decor - and all that hardwork and kepenatan paid off when I saw the joy on Irfan’s face! :) I didn’t get to snap a single shot during the party but Aaron has fully made up for that with his bee-yoooooo-ti-fooool pictures! Thanks dude! :)

Menu of the day were:
Salad and mashed potatoes.
Grilled chicken, beef, lamb, prawns and sausages.
Seafood pasta.
Egg sandwiches, tuna sandwiches and cucur bawang. (Thanks bro!)
Loads and loads of cupcakes.

It rained around 1.15pm and quite heavily too and I was just praying endlessly that it would stop soon. And it did! Phew. By the time the guests arrived, the sky looked clear - albeit some dark clouds - but it didn’t rain until everything was over and most of the guests had gone home. Alhamdulillah. :)

Irfan was just happy running about and I don’t know what is up with him, but he just loves to sakat and irritate the hell out of Naomi. I really pity her. There even came a point where both of them were having heated arguments at one corner. Aiya. Kecik-kecik sudah pandai ka? Haha.

He soon forgot all about bugging Naomi when it was time for him to hit the pinata. For the record, I’m not allowing anymore pinatas at any of our parties. Geez. Too violent! And other than Irfan and Yazid (boys WILL be boys!), no other kids dared to whack Buzz Lightyear. In the end, Irwan and I took turns to hit the pinata and Irwan finally broke it after a while. Kids and adults had fun grabbing whatever favours there were coming out of the pinata.

Soon it was the candle blowing session and suddenly, the wind started blowing hard. And there were too many candles to light up. Note to self: just do it in an enclosed area next time! :P Irfan was happy blowing the candles and was seen giving his grandparents, uncles and aunty the cupcakes (instead of cakes). Awwww… how sweet!

All in all, it was a great party and I am so glad that (almost) everyone made it and thank you guys for all the great presents. :)

To my dad and adik: thanks for being at the the grill pit and grilling everything.
To my mom: thanks for the last minute help and helping me to bring the food and stuff upstairs.
To my inlaws: thanks for being there and for the sandwiches.
To Emily, Kathey, Danny, Shannon and Tecky: thanks for helping out with the cleaning up.
To Hetz, Jazlan, Ira, Ted, Dinah, Keet, Ali, Julia, Azlin, Az, Alia and Johan: thanks for making the party a great success!!!!
And most importantly, to my dear husband: Thanks for indulging in me and my ideas and paying for almost everything! :) Love you pots!

Irfan, we really hope you had your greatest time ever, because we definitely did! And seen below are some of the other photos Aaron has managed to capture. For more photos, please visit his blog. Danke!

My big 3-0!

January 21st, 2009

It was a rather simple affair - dinner with two of my favourite boys. Traffic was madness yesterday, so I was quite tired by the time I got us into town. And then Irfan was restless halfway towards dinner and wasn’t really himself - probably because of the flu and slight cough but whatever it is, I’m thankful for having them around me. :) Thanks for the dinner, babe! I’ll claim my present in a while, ok? Too many to choose from. Haha! :P

Aaaaanyway, the little one is enjoying himself in school. BUT I’m a little concern on some things. See, as all of you are aware, he’s the ONLY child we have (for now) and the ONLY grandson on my side and has been the ONLY grandson on Irwan’s side too ’til about 6 months ago. He’s not had that many playdates (blame it on me!) and so, he’s not sure how he should be around kids as he’s only had adults as his companions/friends/whatever.

He hugged two girls from his class a bit too hard and now the girls are afraid to come to school. I know he’s only a kid - not even 3 yet - but I can’t help but to be all stressed out about it. And thennnnn, he pushed this boy from his class yesterday. And the poor boy has a bump on his forehead. What gives? Yes, Irfan sometimes push us too. But I guess us being adults, getting pushed by a little kid isn’t that badlah. So, I guess, in his defense, he thought that it’d be the same too with the other boy? Dahlah budak tu duduk senyap-senyap and mind his own business je. Ish.

Had quite a long chat with his principal yesterday and she said that this is a normal thing for kids like him, i.e. never had that many interactions with other kids. He’s sort of trying to adjust to the new environment and happy to have friends around him but doesn’t know how to handle his strength and emotions. I’ve read some sites (thanks Hetz!) and what the principal say and what they (the sites) say are almost the same - that it’s normal and as long as we keep an eye on things, he’ll understand sooner or later. But if it’s normal, why do I feel as though I’ve failed being a good mother and teaching my son good values? Argh!

Well, both Irwan and I (and my parents) have spoken to Irfan about it. And I’ve threatened to give the other boy all of his cars if he still pushes him. He does not like that idea, so we’ll see. It’s good that he can defend himself, but it’s not good if he’s a bully in the making. Sigh.

Have you gone through something similar?

At 32 months, he can already:

  • wear his own pants, socks and shoes
  • sing til the cows come home
  • hold a pencil real well and likes to write (gibberish) or draw doodles
  • eat on his own
  • ask me questions til I go mad
  • eat everything under the sky minus kayu, batu, pasir et al
  • tell his wants and don’ts - and be very firm about his choice
  • watch a movie - thank god! - and his favourite being wall.e
  • swim, jump, dunk, kick, turn, flip and whatever else in the pool - must get him off the floaties soon as we’ve been giving him less air in the floats
  • pee on his own - but still not 100% toilet trained yet
  • scream and whine when his demands are not met - madness!
  • help me fold his clothes - albeit a bit messy, but who cares? :P
  • snap (some rather ok) photos via the pns

and many more I can’t remember. Haha. It’s a crazy month, this December is. Hopefully I can breathe better next month! :)

To my dear husband - I love you then as I love you today and thank you for being the greatest husband a wife could ask for! Here’s to us growing old together and watching our child(ren) blossom into good people. Amin.

Some updates

November 24th, 2008

It has been and will be a very busy year end for us. So many weddings, so many parties, so many kenduris - I’m still trying to catch my breath here! And on top of all that busy-ness, we’re currently property hunting too; be it a condo or a terrace.

Since Irwan’s moving to the new place next month, we thought that we’d stay in this part of the world now. The whole thing started after we got back from The Land of Auz. Irwan suggested that we’d temporarily stay at the condo here since the tenant has moved out (or gone back to UK - I’m not too sure) since I’ve been complaining how tiring it is nowadays to clock 100km every.single.day. So, he’s offered to clock the mileage instead now. :)

I packed some of our stuff and we moved. Like a nomad. Heh. That was about a month ago. Irwan would check up on the house every 2-3 days and so far it’s been oklah. With the market declining, I (or we) thought that it’d be a while before anyone’s interested in any of the available properties - house and/or condo. That also meant that the income was coming in lesser than the previous months, but we were doing quite alrightlah.

On Friday & Saturday, Irwan went to the Putrajaya house to let the agents and prospective tenants view the house. We had quite a number of offers and were quite surprised actually! Who would’ve thought that people actually wants to live in that jin bertendang place! But a few expats from Cyberjaya complained that they couldn’t stand living in Cyberjaya; and Putrajaya is the next best thing. A few have also shown interest in purchasing the house, but for the time being we aren’t selling it lah. Maybe later on, who knows?

Last night, after our nephew’s Akikah, Irwan and I went to our Putrajaya house to clear out Irfan’s room and take whatever loose items that we need. We still have to make a few more trips soon because get this - the  new tenants want to move in by this Saturday! Eeeepppp…

For now, we’ve put the ads for the condo on hold because otherwise, we’d be homelesslah! Ish! And property hunting is very pening-fying. I can’t believe how ridiculously priced some properties are. Dahlah nak masuk pun jam, nak keluar pun jam, but price must be so mahal meh???

So yeah, good luck to us and hopefully we’d find some place nice and don’t need to move years from now. It’s very, very, very tiring all this moving business! I don’t know how some people move houses every year or every other year. Tak penat ke?

Btw, pics below were taken at Hijauan Kiara during a friend’s daughters’ birthday party. Such a nice place she has. But the price - cannot affordlaaaaaaaa… Haha!

Big Three-Oh!

May 23rd, 2008

The hoosband will be celebrating his 30th birthday this coming Sunday. He’s currently in Vietnam for a short trip and will only be back on Monday. Hence, we will not be celebrating his birthday with him. Bleh! B, happy thirtieth birthday, okay? Irfan’s (and his mommy too… :)) missing you already, so hurry back! Hahahaha…

Nothing big has been planned for his birthday. I guess we will be taking a much needed break (for me at least!) in a few months’ time. Heh. Anyway, we had his birthday dinner with his parents last week and he was asked to stand on the chair to sing, but he ended up giving a speech instead. Apalah… haha! I still suck at indoor photography (not that I’m such a pro at outdoor.. but you get what I mean) so not many photos were taken. Irfan was happily clapping his hand when everyone sang the birthday song and wanted to blow the candle instead - which we let himlah.

On another note, I’ll be working from home for the next 2 weeks or so as my parents will be away in Europe with my brothers (I so dontch like them! :P) and I foresee myself lacking in updates and blog hopping. So pardon me (singing to Incubus’ tune) while I catch up, yeah? Aaaaaaanyway, have a good weekend y’all!

As per our original plan, we had Irfan’s birthday dinner at Delicious Marc Residence last Saturday and it was attended by family members and one of Irfan’s godmas (and her fiance) - since she’s the only one who’s in the country. Everything went according to plan but Irfan was a bit cranky towards the end as he didn’t really nap in the afternoon - probably sensed something happening was going to happen. Heh. To everyone that came that night - thanks for coming. :)

I managed to take some photos in between eating and gossiping with my best friend, Alia and although I’m not too happy with ‘em shots (I suck big time at night photography!) at least I’ve got somethinglah. And then, my batteries decided to die on me just before Irfan blew the candle. Alamak! Just my luck! Pffffttttt… ho-well. Serves me right - for not checking and not bringing extra batteries! :P

Anyway, I’d like to thank Jayden, Rachel, Ryan, Durrah Aisyah & Dian Zulaikha for all the presents they’ve given Irfan - on top of the many, many presents he has gotten from his parents, all of his grandparents, Uncle Gafil & Aunt Allia, Uncle Ike & Aunt Nana and Aunt Alia & Uncle Johan. To Aunt Zehan who called all the way from Sydney - thanks for the call (I am trying to sort out the logistics to visit you - so hang in there!!!) and to those who sms-ed, email-ed, gtalk-ed, msn-ed and etc, thank you very much for the well wishes. :)

Will post photos of his presents later. But in the mean time, do enjoy the photos from Saturday night.

Screaming at me. :P

Birthday boy at the head of the table being flanked by my parents and in-laws.

Cake was from Delicious. Candle was from Perth.

Couldn’t contain his happiness when we sang to him the birthday song. Heh.

Irfan doing some moves. The only full frame shot I got of him and it’s blur! *slaps forehead*

‘Em favours from Patchi. Yummmm!
