Last weekend, my parents and my youngest brother left for Tibet. So, we decided to stay over at Irwan’s parents’ place because then his mom can look after Irfan while I go to work. Anyway, Irwan’s brother is about to get married in July, so that weekend, we were all going to lots of places to get things done for his wedding. On Saturday, we brought lil’ Irfan to Concorde Shah Alam to have the food tasting. It was his first ride in his car seat, which he didn’t seem to mind. I was sitting at the back making sure he’s comfortable, but whenever Irwan takes a corner, Irfan’s head will slide to the other side. So, in the end, I ended up putting a small pillow to ensure that his head stays straight. But unfortunately, that was a bad move because he started sweating and started to feel uncomfortable. Then, I took away the pillow and held his head with my hands. He didn’t seem to quite mind that and slept thoroughout the journey.

At the hotel, he didn’t have a chance to catch a wink either because everyone wanted to hold him and play with him. And while having his milk given by a family friend, he did his “business” on the poor aunty. Hahaha!

On Sunday, we had Irwan’s birthday lunch at Mum’s place. But from morning, Irfan was cranky and refused to sleep or even drink his milk (when he did drink, he didn’t finish them)! Both Irwan and I tried to soothe him, but to no avail. In the end, we were late for the lunch! After lunch, Irwan said to send him and baby home so that baby can rest since he hasn’t been getting any sleep (in actual fact, it’s the daddy who wanted to sleep :P). So, after sending them back home, I joined mom in-law, bro in-law, cousin in-law and sis in-law to-be at The Curve. I bought some clothes for Irfan and after searching for a scrapbook at Borders and MPH, I managed to find a shop (Papier) that caters for all these stuff. Man, was I in for a surprise! The prices are just plain ridiculous!!!!! But since I’ve been looking high and low for it, I decided might as well buy lah. ;)

The few days he has been with mom in-law, he’s been sleeping better on his chest (initially he found it uncomfortable and kept getting up every few minutes) and has learned to focus even better. Whenever Irwan and I leave him for work, we would wave our hands to him and he’ll follow us around with his eyes. So cute! And at work, when I miss him, I’ll go have a sneak peek at his online photos. Incase you want to look at them, here is the site: http://photos.yahoo.com/cardula.rm. Which reminds me, I need to upload his latest photos. =)

Irfan’s car seat

May 25th, 2006

Here’s lil’ Irfan seating on his car seat that we bought for him last weekend from Mothercare. Didn’t realise that a child’s car seat can cost a bomb! Oh well, for safety measures, I’d rather have us burn holes in our pockets than to have any untoward incidents happening to our beloved child.
He seems to be comfortable in it and it should last him til he’s about 3-4 years old. By then we could probably use it for his baby brother/sister. *grin*
It’s my second day at work and I’m missing Irfan terribly! My mom (who is baby-sitting him for the time being) says that he hardly wants to sleep as well. I guess he’s used to me feeding him and putting him to sleep that he wants no one else to do it.
Last night I pitied him so I asked Irwan to put lil’ Irfan on our bed and the three of us slept well and as though sensing that his parents are tired, our baby only woke up once for his feed. =) I wanted to spend some extra time with him so instead of Irwan feeding him, I fed and changed him instead.
Not that busy at work today, so I’ve been going through other blogs to get some ideas on how to improvise mine. And last night, while looking through one blog, I realised that the blog belongs to Irwan’s ex-colleague at HP. Man, what a small world!!!
Am counting the hours and the minutes to get home to Irfan!
