A day with Irfan…

April 27th, 2007

I stayed home yesterday since I had to bring Irfan to SJMC for his MMR jab. Irwan couldn’t come with us as he had to go to work, but it was a fun day with Irfan! :) He woke up at 6 a.m. and played with his toys, books and bottle and bottle cover (kept insisting to put the bottle cover correctly on his own, refusing any help from either of us) and we went back to sleep since he was entertaining himself lah.

When Irwan got up at 8 a.m, he saw that Irfan had put the pacifier into his mouth himself and went back to sleep on his own too. Haha! It was a rather cute sight, I must say! And when Irfan got up at about 9 a.m, we sent Irwan to work.

After we got back, I cooked Irfan’s porridge, loaded the washing machine, fed him breakfast and while he was playing with his toys, cleaned up the house a bit. Once I saw that he was already tired, made some milk and he drank the milk to sleep. Continued a bit more of housework and then went and had my shower and after I was done, surfed the net while waiting for the lil’ champ to get up.

We left the house at about 1 p.m. and traffic was good and I think the parking angel was with me as I didn’t have to go round and round the parking lot in SJMC to get us a parking! We were #6 and the nurse said to come back in an hour’s time. I took this opportunity to have my lunch at the cafeteria (I had pringles for breakfast! Haha!) and Irfan wanted some of my roasted chicken too. :) Fed him and he was going “cak” “cak” with everyone that passed us and some of the older boys wanted to play with him. Oklah, let him play with them while I had my lunch in peace.

When we got back to the doctor’s office, she was away at the children’s ward (I suspect that something might have happened to a kid/a few kids) and she only returned to her office at about 4 p.m!!! Irfan couldn’t sit still, he wanted to walk everywhere, crawl everywhere and I just followed him around. Dumped the stroller (including my handbag!) at where we were seated and was praying no one would take anything from there lah. Hehe.

Btw, Irfan’s paed said that there were quite a number of mild HFMD cases yesterday and she suspects that there is an outbreak here. But thankfully, none are serious ones. So you guys, be extra extra careful with your girls and/or boys, okie?

After SJMC, we went to Subang Parade and since it was a quick one, I just stuffed my credit card, handphone and keys in my pocket and carried Irfan, instead of having to take out the stroller and yada yada yada. :) Got meself a pair of pants and top from Dorothy Perkins and some other stuff and we were done.

All in all, we had fun, although I was pretty much exhausted at the end of the day and oh, we shall have a repeat since I will be a stay-at-home mom for the next 6 days as my parents are going here and my mom in-law will be here.

Wish me luck, people! :)

Irfan and the balloon.

My love….

We met up with Aaron (one of Irwan’s good friends from school) yesterday (he, wifey and kiddo resides in Bangkok now) and he brought along his expensive toy and was seen snapping Irfan’s pictures away last night while we were having dinner… at guess where? Alamanda of course! Haha! Hrmmm, now we’re thinking of getting one of those “toys” too lah. Oh well, we’ll see, we’ll see…

He also invited us to go here early next month with them and asked me to take my diver’s license as well (they are certified divers already) since he knows I’ve been wanting to take it. That got me excitedlah!!! But when I got into the office today and saw my calendar, ooopppsieee.. I’ve got a wedding to attend to that weekend. Sigh. So bye bye license.. for now!

Can’t wait to take the darn license! Have been wanting to since yonks ago.. but never had the time and kaki (Irwan has problem with his ears, so it might rupture his ear drums if he goes down too deep into the water). Oh well, no rezeki for now. Nyeh!

Irfan having his bubur.

Not sure what it was he was pointing at.

Weekend updates…

April 24th, 2007

I had a new computer installed yesterday, so I didn’t have time to post anything as I was busy installing softwares and programs and what have yous. The new pc comes with 2GB ram and 500GB hard disk drive! Weehoo!!! I can scrap all I want! Hahaha! But I tell you, I’m sure I’ll run out of space soon enough! Sheeeeesshhhh…

Anyway, Irfan has started pronouncing some “funny” words these past few days. I guess he is going to start talking soon, ey? Yippeee! At least then I’d know exactly what he wants, because for now, he’s just pointing towards what he wants, and sometimes I’d miss the cue. And it can get really frustrating then, for him and for me! Nyeh!

We brought him for dinner at Alamanda on Friday night, and he was happy jumping in the highchair (will post the video soon, once I’ve uploaded to youtube) and had some of our food too. Although he just had 8 oz. of milk before that, he can still eat! Hrmmmm…

On Saturday, we went to Auto Bavaria BB as Irwan had to meet someone there and Irfan was happy being on ‘em bikes. I don’t quite like the bikes. They’re too bulky. If they had designed their bikes like the CBRs or Aprilias, then I might have given some thought… sheeaaaahhh right! :P The 645ci cabriolet was just awesome! And Irfan had a go in it. Heh. Sorry bubs, mommy and daddy can’t afford to buy one yet. Ask Atuk, ok? Hahahahaha!

After AB, we went to KLCC and Irfan fell asleep as soon as he sat in his stroller. So apa lagi, we used this chance to ronda-ronda and buy some stuff before the lil’ one gets up lah. Heh. He slept quite a bit and when he woke up, we were having a late lunch at BK and he insisted on having some fries and burger! *shakes head* Lepas tu, went and “drove” the train outside BK (as seen in one of the photos below).

On Sunday, he spent some time with me, but he slept for almost 3 hours in the morning, and by the time Irwan got back from meeting a friend, we went out for lunch, did some groceries shopping, sent some clothes for ironing and headed to SIC to meet up with some friends. Irfan had fun looking at the cars (awesome GT2 and powderful E30!), but unfortunately, the babes looked so “ah-lian”. Aiyooo…. kesian betul. Oh well, at least we had fun watching ‘em cars.

Lompat-lompat in the highchair.

Can I have one? Pleaaseeeeeeee???

Bugs bunny teeth. Haha!

Hey you…

"Eh eh eh"…

April 20th, 2007

That’s what he’ll say if he wants something or if he wants you to bring him somewhere (while pointing his finger to where he wants to go). In the mornings when I send him to mom in-law, he’d ask her to carry him and bring him to the door grilles or the autogate for him to push and pull and push and pull and it’s a neverending cycle lah basically! When the autogate doesn’t move, he’d “eh eh eh” to his grandma (while pointing to the other gate) and she’d bring him to the other side. When the other side won’t budge either, he’d “eh eh eh” again (and yes, while pointing too), and she repeats it all over againlah. Aiyoooo… that son of mine! *rolls eyes*

He doesn’t do that at my parents’ house because 1) it’s a gated community, so no autogate, grilles or what have yous 2) he has the pool that he’d “eh eh eh” to. *slaps forehead* In the evenings when I come back from work, he’d insist that I hold his chubby fingers while he practice walking and he’d be the “designated driver”. I can’t steer him according to my directions. It has to be HIS! Be it to the pool, to the stairs, the patio, etc etc, whereverlah. If I refuse to follow his directions, he’d tug my hands and push his body to the direction that he wants me to bring him to. Tsk tsk tsk…

He’s got these small chairs that he “inherited” from my brother. Somehow, whenever he sits on the chair, he will not dare to come down from it. And until today, I’m still wondering why! Haha! We have put one in our room so that whenever I mandi, I can just let him sit on it, or when I need to get ready in the morning, he’d wait for me patiently while sitting on that cute lil’ chair. So far, he doesn’t complaint, so I guess, oklah tu?!

Waiting for Mama to get ready.

Engrossed playing with Humptee Dumptee.

Another tooth is out…

April 18th, 2007

Yup yup! This time it’s his left lateral incisor. He hasn’t been drooling much, but likes to feed himself with whatever he can find on the floor - sandals, toys, books, clothes.. you name it lah! Sometimes he’d get upset with us for not letting him put those stuff into his mouth (like as though tak cukup makan like that), but would forget about it almost immediately. Haha!
He knows how to shake one’s hand when you tell him to do so. Irwan usually practices with him in the mornings before we leave our house. And reluctantly, Irfan would extend his right hand. On days that he’s upset because his papa leaves him behind, he’d refuse to even have eye contact with Irwan! Tsk tsk tsk…
He also knows how to give “high 5″ and would sometimes bring both his hands up. Haha!
Last night we had steamboat here which is owned by Sasha’s famous brother in-law. Food was good, ambience was great and Irfan enjoyed watching 2 big a** Iguanas chilling in the cage together with 2 rabbits. There were also 2 huge tortoises and some chickens. Irfan refused to sleep although it was waaaayyyy past his bedtime and was enjoying the delicious food. BUT I couldn’t get myself to swallow the gross looking bamboo lala. It reminded me of the disgusting things they show on Fear Factor. Bamboo lala for steamboat is a no-no for me. I’d rather have it fried with dried chillis and dried prawns. THAT is heavenly! =)

Another monkey face shot.. ;)

FINALLY! Irfan has succeeded in calling baba at first and papa the next second. Oh well, they both mean the same anyway. So, yes, Irwan is very very very the happy. Heh! =)
We have been trying to get Irfan to pronounce “papa” for the past few months, but each time he tries, “tata” comes out instead. For now, the words that he’s able to say are:
  • mama
  • tata
  • baba
  • papa
  • appp-brrr (one time only!)
  • come (one time only!)

He loves flipping through his books, but gets bored pretty fast when we try to teach him to pronounce the words that are on the page. Sigh. But if it’s just him and the book(s), he’d be holding onto the book(s) longer. He’s got tons of books, but for now, I’m just letting him have two, so that he can familiarize himself with the ABCs and the cars. Hehe.

We had breakfast at La Bodeg4 on Saturday as I was going for a spa session here. We ordered the big breakfast and Irfan was enjoying himself with the scrambled eggs, sausages and beef bacon. Yummy! Hehe. Anyway, when I went for my spa, Irwan took care of Irfan for an hour. Poor husband of mine was half asleep by the time I was done! Haha!

We headed for Bangsar Village to do some grocery shopping when Irfan got up from his nap and apparently, according to Sasha, Annie saw us there, but instead of coming up to me to say hi, she sms-ed Sasha instead and Sasha sms-ed me later on in the evening to let me know. Note to Annie (or anyone else): Next time you see us, just say hi, okie? We don’t bite! Hehehehe…

Dinner time was spent with my in-laws. We had steamboat at Taman Tun and Irfan was enjoying himself too. He was asleep when we got there, but after a while got up and demanded to be fed! Tsk tsk tsk… I really don’t know what that son of mine won’t eat. Hrmmm….???

He’s more inclined to practice his walking nowadays, unlike before, where he’d jell-o himself whenever I hold his two grubby fingers to get him to walk. He was walking on and on yesterday while we were checking out the flea market at Mont Kiara. But he still refuses to walk for more than 2 steps on his own. Oh well, I’m just going to leave him be for I don’t want to peningkan myself when he starts running up and down and I have no choice BUT to chase after him. I’ve bought the backpack (he’ll wear the backpack) with strap (I’ll be having the strap around my wrist) thing and intend to use it on him once he starts walking and I won’t give a damn about what people will say about it because whether or not he looks like a dog on a leash or whatever else they call it, he’s my son and he’s my responsibility and I’m pretty damn sure that those people aren’t the ones who will be having sleepless nights incase Irfan goes missing (touchwood!)like that lil’ boy who went missing (and has been found.. thank god!) at Sogo. =)

My book and I. ;)

Practicing to walk.

After our trip to Bangsar Village.

Happy Happy Joy Joy! ;)

April 13th, 2007

Irfan usually gets up around 6.30 - 6.45 a.m. on most days. If he’s too tired, I’d have to wake him up by 7 a.m. latest. However, when he’s had more than his fair share of beauty sleep, he’d be up and about by 6 a.m!! Whenever he gets up, he’ll be talking (more like babbling) to himself (or us!) and doing whatever he wants to. He won’t bother us unless he’s 1) hungry 2) soiled or 3) wants a playmate. Heh!
As you can see in the pictures below, he’s such a happy kiddo and doesn’t really complaint about having to wake up early. Thank god! He only does so when he’s tired and still asleep when I take his clothes off. Groggily, he’d whine and complaint endlessly, but when the water hits him, he’ll be content playing with the water. Aaaahhh.. such bliss of being a baby, ey?
The other day, mom in-law told Irwan and I that our lil’ kiddo here said the word ‘come’ when my mom in-law instructed him to come to her. However, when I asked him to repeat the word again, jangan haraplah! It’s like buletin utama, no repeats whatsoever! Pfffttt!
One more tooth at the bottom is coming out. He eats lots of solid nowadays too. He’s still on Enfalac HA (we’ve got like 20 tins left!), but I put 7 0z. of water to 5 or 6 spoonful of milk as opposed to 1:1 ratio. Too heatylah…
He knows what he wants these days, and he’s pretty firm about it. Quite temperamental too, at times. Especially if there are too many strange looking faces around. He’s still manja with mom in-law, Irwan and my parents (in that order), but he doesn’t try to manipulate me or give me his “puss-in-boots” look. Haha! I can see the difference when he’s with me and when he’s with Irwan. With Irwan, he blatantly manipulates that poor husband of mine. He’ll whine a bit, cry a bit (crocodile tears), make some noise a bit, and most times than not, Irwan gives in to him lah.
In the mornings, it’s becoming more difficult for Irwan to put our lil’ boy into his car seat. Pass him over to me, and voila! Don’t have to karate and taekwando and whatever else all with Irfan. Same thing when he’s in his stroller. If Irwan’s around, he’ll check to see if he’s within the vicinity and also check if I’m around and if I’m not, he’ll make his monkey face and will ask Irwan to take him out of the stroller. BUT when he’s with me alone, takdelah pulak buat perangai ever so often?! Hrmppphhh! Naughty!
I think I’m going to have to borrow mom2ashley’s magic wand soon. Hahahahaha!

Good morning people! :)

Cool innit? ;) Hahahaha…

Making monkey face while stuck in a jam.

The FIRST birthday bash!

April 9th, 2007

Phew! Finally it’s over. And I can now rest. Well, sort of lah. Because now have to worry about Irwan’s birthday pulak. Aiseh. Haha!
Anyway, the party went well. Alhamdulillah. Some people couldn’t make it at the last minute. Oh well, I guess things like this are bound to happen. To say that I’m not disappointed is an understatement but it’s alright. Met up with friends that I’ve not seen in ages and that is one of the reasons why I didn’t take THAT many photos. Aiya….! =P
Irfan woke up late that morning since he stayed up late the night before to play with his grandma since she only arrived on Thursday night. When he got up around 10-ish, I fed and showered him and off he went with his Papa running around town buying stuff. I was at home with the cleaner arranging the furnitures and what have yous and didn’t have anything to eat until my mother in-law brought lunch at about 2 p.m. My family arrived shortly after and my mom helped with the other arrangements.
What we failed to note was that the charcoal (quite crap!) we bought from Tesco needed a looooooonnngggg time to really burn, hence we only got the BBQ started at about 5 p.m. My poor guests had to start first with the salad, mashed potato, beef stew with some baguette while waiting for the chicken and sausages to be ready. Hehe. When the first batch of sausages were put on the table, they were gone within seconds!
Everyone had a great time, I must say. Especially the lil’ fella. I didn’t get to hold him or play with him that much as I was busy entertaining our guests. When it was time to blow the candle, he got so excited and wanted to literally attack the cake! Irfan had to hold him down incase one of his hands sempat “whack” the cake. I tell you, the cake was soooo good looking, I didn’t have the heart to let anyone eat it. I know, I know, crazy, but it was just soooo lovely, and delicious too! Thanks mom2ashley, for posting Ashley’s first birthday cake last year. Haha!
We initially wanted to have the BBQ done at our small lil’ garden at the back of our house, but the sky somehow looked a wee bit gloomy, so we didn’t want to take the chance and had the bbq at our porch instead. I felt bad when the neighbours were all looking and they were giving me that why-aren’t-we-invited look. (Maybe I imagined it!) So, I tried not to go out too often. Hahahaha!
Although the party was supposed to be from 4-7 p.m., a few of our friends came later as they had to do some other things earlier on, and the last couple arrived at about 8.30 p.m. or so. We ran out of cooked chickens and the flame had already died, so they had to settle for some cakes and fruits. Kesian… (note to self: NEVER buy charcoal from Tesco! =P)
Irfan received a lot of presents. I still haven’t let him open them all up. Thus far, he has a pair of clothes from baby Zara (from Uncle Yan and Aunty Azlin), a set of toys (from Uncle Amir, Aunty Zeti and Aunty Reena), a pair of OshKosh shoes (from Uncle Ubz and Aunty Ayu), cool funky light for his room in the shape of a bicycle (from Uncle Daud and Aunty Nad) and Mothercare’s shape sorter (from unknown - if you’re reading this, please let me know because there was no name on the wrapping paper).
He slept quite late that night too and after he has fallen asleep, I did some cleaning up (no Sasha, I didn’t break my back.. haha!) and washed up and went to bed with a smile. One down… 17 (if you’re lucky sayang..) more to go! Teeheeheehee….

The first cake I bought on 03.04.07

Cake cutting with Papa.

Chilling in the morning.

He napped before his party.

Welcome! Welcome!

The awesome cake!

That cake is MINE!!!

Cut cut cut!

Family shot.

Where the havoc was.

After the cleaning.

After cleaning up.

Month-to-month photos were hung around.

The balance of ‘em door gifts.

We brought him to check out the BMW paddock lounge last night as Irwan had invitations for it and I must say that the lil’ fella had a lot of fun! He even stayed up waaaaaayyy past his bedtime to check out all the cool cars around and of course, the hot chicks too! Heh! *shakes head*
Thank god some other parents brought along their kiddies too, so we didn’t feel too awkward about bringing Irfan along. Haha. But he was the youngest kiddo there, hence the photographers were busy snapping his photos left, right and centre. Especially with him wearing one of those ear plugs (as seen in the picture below).
He refused to wear the ear plugs for long, but when the Formula BMW car was demonstrating, I had to put it back on for him because the noise from the car was just too loud for his lil’ ears. He completely didn’t struggle as his eyes were fixated at the car, doing doughnuts and what have yous. Rather cool, I must say. =)
Some of Irwan’s male colleagues wanted to carry him, but Irfan wouldn’t let them. He’d struggle trying to wriggle himself free from their grasp and would make his “kesian” face. BUT, when it came to some of my hot chicka friends, he’d lunge towards them asking them to carry him. Aiyoooooo… *shakes head* Kecik-kecik dah pandai! Hrmppphhh!!!
He had some finger food too. And wanted to taste the wine and beer (which we didn’t let of course!) that some of our friends were having. In the end, we let him sip some Sprite (he made faces!!!) and he didn’t want no more wine, beer or soft drinks. Haha! Problem settled!
After the car and bike demonstrations, we headed upstairs for some “groove”. But it got a bit too smoky and noisy and we decided to just chill downstairs and let him “drive” one of the cars. He was so happy “driving” the 7-series and when we wanted to leave, he refused to let the steering go. Haha! I could see that he was sleepy, but because there were too many things happening at once, he wanted to sibuk and try to stay awake lah. We even left him with one of Irwan’s colleagues and he didn’t seem to mind her because he didn’t see us since we had our back towards him. Once he spotted us though, it was a different story altogether! =P
Anyhow, we left at about 10.30 p.m, and some people were just arriving since the party will go on til about 1 a.m. Feeling old already. Didn’t think I’d survive past midnight! Nyeh!

Good morning!

I really love this shot! =)
