What is up with people?
May 31st, 2007
See, I have been wearing my braces for the past 5 or 6 years as I had a little gap on the left and right incisor, so the orthodontist (Dr. R) recommended that I have an implant (or bridge) to patch the gap lah. Oklah, so I agreed. I took my braces off a few weeks before my wedding in 2003 but unfortunately the implant wasn’t “strong” enough, so they couldn’t insert the tooth, hence I had to wear a bridge.
After a year, I decided to get that implant done, but my teeth all lari a bit, so kena wear back the braces againlah. Sigh. Since then on, I’ve been wearing, and to wear one is such a hassle I tell you! Bleh! (I only wore for my bottom teeth. Doc said there was no need for me to wear for my upper teeth, and had I insisted, he’d have to take out some teeth for whatever reasonlah, I can’t remember - bottomline is, I said oklah, atas tak payah)
Finally, Dr. R said it was time to put my implant back in as my teeth are already aligned the way the other orthodontist (Dr. S) wants it to be. He said what he said about 1 1/2 months ago. So, after our appointment was done, I went to see his nurse (Miss A) so that she can book my appointment to see Dr. S lah. Btw, they run two clinics, one in Mont Kiara and one in KLCC. Miss A then told me that Dr. S’ appointment book is in KLCC (I was at Mont Kiara at that time), so she would have to call me the next day to confirm on the appointment. I said oklah. And left it as that.
Two weeks passed, and she still didn’t call. I was already tired of waiting, so I called her back and enquired. Miss A’s reply: Sorry, Dr. S won’t be around for the next 2 weeks, that’s why I didn’t call you. I wanted to wait until she gets back.
What a load of cow-dung! But I was too malas to make a fuss and I think I was busy at that time, so I just asked her when’s the appointment? She said 9th June, 11 a.m. @ KLCC (remember that!!!).
About half an hour ago, I received a call from Dr. S telling me that she won’t be able to see any patient on the 9th as she has a meeting or conference or whateverlah. I was upset already by this time because seriously, I’m really really tired of being at her disposal. She feels like coming in, she comes. She doesn’t, she tells you a day before! Bah! So, she asked if I could come anytime before the 9th? Or if I can only come on Saturdays. To which, I replied the latter.
That woman then asked me in a haughty manner: What time are you off? I said 6. Waaaaaaahhhh, she said, so late ah? (Excuse me? Late? I have friends who work til midnight!!) Then with that same haughty arrogant (she’s a Dato’, btw) voice: What time do you start? I said 9. Dr. S then said: WHAT on earth do you do? I was close to saying it’s none of your friggin’ business, but I thought otherwise. And I said, I work for my parents. You know what she replied??? - You must have a very strict father! Oh man, I lost it! I really did! What business of hers that my father is strict or not? AND how dare she accuses him of that? Who the hell does she think she is??? (Yes, my dad is a disciplinarian and strict, but that’s not the pointlah!) I replied her by saying that they aren’t around most of the time, so I have to oversee the company!
I mean, I CAN do as I please, it is afterall my father’s company. But think about it, if I set such bad examples, you think my employees me wouldn’t do the same? Bah!
Okay, back to that arrogant doctor. She then confirmed with me that my appointment is to be rescheduled to the 16th. I asked what time? She said same time as the previous appointment. (Scroll up and look what time was indicated). Oklah, I said, see you at 11 then. Dr. S went “what?” Nolah, your appointment is supposed to be at 3. But but, I said, Miss A said it’s at 11, on the 9th @ KLCC. To which Dr. S replied: I’m telling you it’s supposed to be at 3, on the 9th @ MONT KIARA. I have a surgery at 11 a.m. WTF???!!!!???!!! If the appointment wasn’t cancelled, buta-buta I go to KLCC at 11 am?? Tak boleh jadi ni, must go call Miss A.
And so, called her I did. She gave melah some cock and bull story and then saidlah she also doesn’t want to work there because the doctors all don’t appreciate her (she even insinuated that Dr. S was making up stories about the appointment time, that indeed my appointment was supposed to be at 11 and not 3) and now I want to buta-buta scold her, when she has to run the show all by herself and yada yada yada. I stopped her ramblings and told her I wasn’t interested in her grandmother’s stories all. She’s the nurse, I’m the patient. I don’t give a rat’s ass if she’s unhappy there. She chose to work there, I didn’t force her. So don’t come crying to me when she has blundered her patients’ appointments. I was soooooo cheesed off I tell you. And finally, I just hung up, because she was continuing with her delusional stories.
Now dear readers, anyone knows of any good orthodontist around? I’m sick and tired of giving business to one who drives an Audi TT and another who is driving an S-Class. And then brags about the countries they’ve been to. And then gets all lovey-dovey with the Japanese, French, American and British patients. Malaysians, especially melayu ones, tak ambik pot. Sedarlah sikit, awak tu Melayu jugak. Just ‘coz you’ve got an accent, don’t make you one, aaight? Pffffftttt!
Penang - Day 2
May 29th, 2007
Since Irfan slept quite early the night before (we walked along the Ferringhi road while he was asleep on Irwan’s shoulders, but I didn’t find anything worth buying…), he woke us up at about 7 in the morning. And since he wouldn’t allow us to sleep back, we headed to The Bungalow for breakfast. He had more or less what he had the previous day, and also managed to finish 1 whole banana (and of course, after that he did his “business” lah.. hehe!).
Irwan and Irfan went into the pool (of course after I’ve cleaned Irfan’s behind.. :P) and it was just nice as it wasn’t too crowded as the mat sallehs usually wait til about 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. so that they can ‘tan’ themselves. More kids arrived and Irfan just watched them play and got all excited at times. Heh.
We asked the front desk to allow us to have late checkout (since we arrived at almost midnight anyway?) but apparently the hotel was fully booked. We need to check out by 12.30 p.m. the latest. Oh well. So, while the boys were in the pool, I did some packing and later on joined them at the pool.
After dah kecut like anything, I gave Irfan his shower and fed him some milk. Just like the day before, Irwan brought him for a walk outside and he slept again on Irwan’s shoulders. Hehe. We chilled for a bit before getting ourselves ready to be checked out.
All along, the stay has been very pleasant. But I was quite cheesed off with the receptionist(s) because when we were ready with our bags, I asked Irwan to ask for the concierge to help us with our bags. The call had to go through the reception area and then the request was forwarded to the concierge. So, while waiting for the concierge, I told Irwan to go get the car so that we don’t have to lug our bags all the way to the other side or the car park lah. After about 10 minutes, the concierge still did not show. And then there was a call. The receptionist (who was a male) then asked: Are you checking out yet? Blardy hell! The time only showed 12.40 p.m. and we’ve already called for the concierge, but batang hidung pun tak nampak, so what do you want me to do? Carry all the bags myself? So, what I did was to tell him curtly that my husband has asked for the concierge to pick our bags up roughly about 10 minutes ago (which was the time we had to check out) but the guy hasn’t arrived. When he does, I will check ourselves out. And then, no thank you, no ok, no bye, nothing, he just hung up! Ish! Anyway, I refused to let that have an effect on our pleasant holiday, so I just brushed it off. Went and paid the bill and left. Hrmppphhhh…
But I’m still going to go back….. hehehehe….
We had lunch at the same chinese restaurant again. Didn’t think it was a good idea to have nasi kandar at Masjid Kapitan Kling since there’s no babychair and what not. (I tapau-ed the nasi kandar and had it for dinner the night before though.. so oklah..) Irfan had fried rice and claypot tofu and was playing with the owner’s son. The son was all excited with Irfan and I told her (the owner) that he probably wants an adik. She buat-buat tak dengar. Haha!
Journey back home took about 4 hours. Irfan only slept for about an hour as Irwan had to fill in the petrol and when the car stopped, our lil’ boy got up and didn’t want to sleep back. Aiyoooo.. He wasn’t cranky at the start, but after about 2 hours, he started to get restless and wanted to get out of his car seat. We didn’t allow him though. When it was time for his makan, Irfan finished off 2 bottles of his Mac and Cheese and half a bowl of nestum. Ish! Banyaknya! I think he was eating out of boredom instead of hunger. :P
When we got home, I was faced with 4 loads of clothes to wash (2 days holiday and that many clothes??? Irfan’s were the most!) which only finished its cycle this morning. Phew. Now, where shall we go next? LOL!
He was afraid and felt icky with the sand. Why ah?
Don’t know what the boys are staring at…
:)
Yoohoooooo….
Penang - Day 1
May 28th, 2007
We arrived in Penang at about 11.50 p.m. on Friday night. Traffic wasn’t that bad, but there was a massive jam on NKVE at the Rawang exit. I really pity those who are staying in Rawang, because by the looks of the jam, it’d probably take an hour or more just to pass the traffic lights! Sheeeesshhh.. crazy!
Irwan and I took turns to drive and Irfan on the other hand was asleep throughout the whole journey. :) When we got to our hotel room, he was still asleep! Hahaha.. After washing up and all, we called it a night!
Since we arrived so late the night before, it was only usual that we all woke up late, except for the lil’ fella lah. I think he got up like an hour before and was making noise to wake us up, but we were just too tired and when I really did wake up, it was almost 9.30 a.m.! Alamak, the lil’ one is hungrylah! Hehehe.. so after getting ourselves ready, we proceeded to have our breakfast.
The buffet breakfast was quite good. Irfan had his nestum, half a bowl of chicken porridge, two sunny side ups, one piece of toasted bread and some nasi lemak. Foowah! My son must’ve been pretty starved! :P
Irwan and Irfan went into the pool which was just outside our room after we were all done with breakfast. I didn’t join them (I have not been swimming since I gave birth actually.. hrmmmm…) as I was busy snapping photos here and there. Irfan had a great time in the pool and stayed in there until kecut his fingers! There were a few kids in the pool too and Irfan was happy watching them play. I think he wanted to join them, but still too young to do so. ;)
After about an hour plus in the pool, I called both the babies out (hehe!) and gave Irfan his shower. (Oh, he knows how to shee-shee when prompted.. but must make the “shhhhhhhhh” sound) When Irwan was ready, he decided to bring Irfan out for a walk since there was some sort of carnival going on at the beach. The two boys walked to Shangri-La Golden Sands (which was next door) and after a while, Irfan dozed off on Irwan’s shoulders. Penat sangatlah tu…
So, we lazed around by the poolside and watched one SPG mengada-ing with her old and scrawny looking mat salleh partner. I think the girl’s about 18? 19? Ish! I told Irwan to lie down on the hammock (as suggested by Sasha) but it wasn’t too comfy as he had Irfan on his chest. And we didn’t want some untoward accident to happen, hence we went back to the room and put him on the bed instead. When he did wake up (finally!) it was almost 3 p.m. and we then headed to The End of the World Seafood Restaurant situated at Teluk Bahang. It used to be packed like sardines, but I guess since Inter-Continental Hotel (it was Mutiara Hotel then) is now under renovation, they’ve pretty much lost out their customers (since most of them are from that hotel). We ordered noodles, crabs, squids and taw mew (sp?) and gobbled ourselves silly. :P
Irwan wanted to visit his “friends”, so we made way to the monkey’s place after lunch. Thank god we came on Saturday. because on Sunday there was to be some Floral Fest launch thingiemajigie. Phew. The place was well-kept, but there weren’t as many people as it used to be. Irfan enjoyed watching the monkeys, but when there’s no monkeys around, he’d whine in his stroller and would want us to pick him up. So lo’ and behold, we had to get ‘em monkeys within sight! Heh.
After having ice-cream, we went to Gurney Drive, and I guess the parking angel was near me as I got a parking directly opposite the Gurney Plaza. We first entered Gurney Plaza as I have been searching high and low for Irfan’s sandals in KL but haven’t found a suitable one for him. Irwan didn’t think it’s a good idea to spend so much on a pair of sandals as he’ll outgrow them soon enough, so when I was about to give up completely, we went into a Disney shop and yay, found him a pair. And the best part was, he was able to walk better in them.
Had dinner at Gurney Drive. Bought mom in-law’s sotong bakar for her (she’s been craving for ‘em!) and headed back to the hotel. And yes, if you are wondering, Irfan did not have his afternoon nap. Probably was too excited with the trip. We didn’t force him to sleep either as he was quite well-behaved. A bit cranky, yes, but it was controllable. And oh, I forgot to mention, aside from the sandals, I got him a cute cap from Giordano. ;)
Our room.
Napping after his stint in the pool. ;)
Garden rooms.
The bungalow & the pool area.
Blur.
Some of ‘em monkeys.
Happy Birthday, Papa! :)
May 25th, 2007
Happy Birthday, B!!! :) May we grow old together, insyaAllah and may we be blessed with many more kids (two more max, ok?!) around us. Having you (and Irfan) is the best thing in my life! Love you always… ;)
Hope you’ll have a great time with us in Penang, yah? :)
The love of my life and the great father to my son. :)
It’s your birthday….
May 24th, 2007
Stressnya nak play around with the CSS codes. OMG!!! I’ve spent like almost 3/4 of my time at work staring at the damn CSS codes…. and I still can’t friggin’ get the header title out and can’t change the sidebar font colour. I’ve managed to change the colours for the body fonts though. Hellppppttttcccchhhhh!!!!!
Anyway, ignore the banner for now, yeah? It’s still not done yet.
On another note, Irwan will turn 29 tomorrow. :) So, we’re all going to go have dinner later on with his family. And then tomorrow, we’ll be leaving for here. Can’t wait to relax and enjoy myself at the beach! Woo-hoo!!!
Oklah, need to stare some more at those darn CSS codes. Pfffffftttttt!!!
Hooray!!!
May 23rd, 2007
Irfan’s back to his normal sleeping pattern again. Mom in-law said that he had a very long afternoon nap yesterday. Phew. Lega. :)
Moby commented that he’s been using the “controlled crying” method on Momo and after reading the article, I wanted to try it on Irfan lah. Forwarded the link to Irwan, and he (unsurprisingly) said that he won’t be able to ignore Irfan’s cries for long. Alamak!!!! So, how?? She said that her husband has the exact same reaction as Irwan and when her husband wanted to carry their son, she told him that he’ll need to look after the boy until the lil’ fler sleeps again. I threatened Irwan with the same threat, but somehow, tak jalan also lah… aisehman..!!!! I think I will either 1) try the method when Irwan isn’t around or 2) tie Irwan to the bed (eh, that sounds funny already.. :P) or 3) tie Irwan to the chair (this sounds better… hahaha!). ;)
But anyway, after dinner last night, Irfan fell asleep on our bed as soon as he has finished his milk. Actually, getting him to sleep at night has never been a problem (sometimes it does, but most times he’s been pretty much co-operative). And Irwan was out with his friends. So I just let Irfan sleep on our bed, and when Irwan got back at some un-godly hour of the day, I told him to transfer Irfan to his cot. (I was dead to the world.. hahaha!).
About 3-ish, I vaguely heard some muffled cries. And when I actually listened carefully, it was the cry of our lil’ tyke! The moment I said “B, Irfan’s cryin….”, without finishing my sentence, Irwan literally leapt out of the bed and went to Irfan. But I am so proud to say that he didn’t pick our kid as soon as he got into his room. He just let him be for a bit, and then baru pick him up. No cuddling or shh-shh-ing could soften Irfan’s cries. He was crying like as though we’ve abandoned him or something. Made him 8 oz. of milk and let him sleep on our bedlah. Hehe.
Let’s see how it goes tonight… ;)
His favourite monkey face. Pffffftttt…
Refusing to nap in the afternoon… why????
May 22nd, 2007
I don’t know what is up with the lil’ tyke, but he has been refusing to nap in the afternoon since Friday! Napping in the mornings is not a problem, he’d usually knock out for about 2-3 hours, and usually he’d nap roughly the same period of time in the afternoon too! But that has not been the case lah.
On Saturday, when I went to pick Irwan up at KLIA, thought the lil’ fler would at least nap for half an hour, since he always sleeps in the car. But noooooooooo.. not even a wink! Although he was rubbing his eyes and they were really really red and watery, refused to sleep even for a bit.
Then, on Sunday, Irwan couldn’t put Irfan to sleep in the morning. Irfan just wanted to play and play (okay, maybe over-excited that the papa is back.. but still???) and after 2 hours, Irwan just gave up and in the end, I managed to put Irfan to sleep in about 15 minutes or so (with a spanking or two in between). And even then, he didn’t sleep that longlah, probably because it was lunch time and the tummy was growling (yup, I heard the tummy growl.. so funny!).
After lunch, I thought that he would sleep since it was almost 4 p.m. by the time we left Alamanda and we were heading to Shah Alam, which was quite a drive away. His eyes did close, but not for long. And he was just wriggling and fussing and turning and restless and what have yous. Even the spanking did not have any effect on him. *slaps forehead*
Yesterday, I was told by my mother in-law that Irfan did not have his afternoon nap again. Aiyooooo..!! She tried to put him to sleep for almost 2 hours, and he just refused, absolutely refused to sleep! Arrgghhhh… tension nya!!! And then, when we were stuck in a jam on LDP (kereta rosak tengah jalan, everyone must blardy look and cause jam! typical Malaysians!!!), he was sooooooo cranky. Didn’t want his pacifier. Didn’t want his milk. Sang and sang and sang, and no effect whatsoever. In the end, I just let him cry lah.. Pekak kan telinga aje. When he got tired, he put his pacifier in his mouth, I tepuk-tepuk him a bit, and within 5 minutes, he was off to dreamland. Phew!
So, my questions are:
-
Is this normal?
-
Is he going through some phase thingiemajigie?
-
Will he not nap in the afternoon anymore? (pengsan!!!)
-
Am I going to go crazy? (hahahaha!!!!)
Trying to climb down from his chair.
The Return of the Papa… ;)
May 21st, 2007
Our weekend was an eventful one. Why? Because Irfan’s papa is back, that’s why! Hahaha! Anyway, our day started on Saturday with both of us (Irfan & I) going back to Putrajaya to let the maid clean the house and also for the contractors to fix our parquet floor. (I hate parquets, they always tercabut-cabut. Pftttt…!)
After the maid was done at about 2, I gave Irfan a shower as I was supposed to meet Chumsy’s mom at BK Mutiara Damansara to pass Ashley’s, Kylie’s, Fearles’ and Cruz’s presents as we were invited for the party, but since I am still down with chicken pox, I decided against going in, for the sake of the children. :) So, after a 5-minute meet up outside BK (sorry Barbara, we shall meet for lunch or something some other time, yah?), I drove to KLIA to pick Irwan up. (He was supposed to arrive at about 5.55 p.m. but managed to get an earlier shuttle from Singapore, hence the earlier arrival, but he said NOT to pick him up, but I thought, what the heck? Just pick onlylah.. :P)
Irfan’s first reaction upon seeing his papa? ANGER! Seriously, he was crying and fussing in his car seat and I think he was mad at the father for leaving him so long lah. Haha. But the minute Irwan took him out of the car seat, he was all fine and dandy. W-H-A-T??? I think he just wanted to get out of the car seat. Hahahaha!
All the way back to Bangsar, Irfan had his “sekejap merajuk, sekejap okay” mood. And oh, he hasn’t had his afternoon nap, so he was a bit cranky, and was whacking Irwan’s face left, right and centre. (What is it with kids and whacking their parents?)
We went to BSC to do some grocery shopping and bought nuggets and porridge from McD for Irfan and my brother and Irfan walloped 3/4 of the large porridge. :) After dinner with my family, I gave him his bath, packed our stuff and left for Putrajaya. On the way, he drank 8 oz. of milk and went straight to dreamland soon after. ;)
Yesterday, we just chilled at home for the first half of the day. Then went here to have our lunch and then went to the go-kart circuit in Shah Alam to meet a friend of ours. At the circuit, Irfan wanted to sit on the go-kart, but I told Irwan not to let him start so young! It’s an expensive hobbylah.. wait til the parents are earning 7-digit figures per annum, k? :P
After the circuit, we dropped by my in-laws’ house and when my mother in-law got back, she brought with her another present to add to the many many many presents she’s bought for Irfan within the past month or so. Heh. Thanks Mom! So while brother in-law fixed the toy for him, I gave Irfan a quick shower and after playing with the toy for a bit, we proceeded to have our dinner here. This time around, not all the food was good. The fish was tasteless and the butter prawns were just as bad. :( When we enquired, it seems that the previous chef has left, hence the different in taste. Oh well.. at least the rest of the food was still good.
Since Irfan refused (yet again!) to have his afternoon nap (even after spanking his bottom a few times in the car - funny thing is, he has already closed his eyes, but then suddenly pops his eyes open and tak nak sleep and it happened a few times too, which was very frustrating as I could see that he was really really sleepy), he didn’t eat much for dinner, so I fed him 8 oz. of milk and he went to sleep halfway guzzling down his milk. So, right hand was holding Irfan, left hand was trying (unsuccessfully) to put food into my mouth (nasib baik Irwan suapkan.. hehehe..) and by the time I was done, all the food on the table was gone. Phew! Nasib baik.. tiada pembaziran.. ;)
After chit-chatting for a bit, we called it a night and went back to our respective homes. :)
And Irwan’s going to Germany in July.. and Korea in August… yikes!!!!!
Irfan and his new toy…
Got tagged!
May 21st, 2007
Oh man, kena tag kaw-kaw last week. And I still owe her a tag. Hang on, k? That tag of yours needs some thinking and right now, I’ve got no time to think! Hahahaha!
So anyway, back to the tag, one was given by her and another by her. Since the previous tag I’ve done before sounds almost identical to what she wants, I’m hoping that Shern’s mommy will accept it. What say you? ;)
The other tag, my fansee schmansee.. hrmmm, lemme see, just like Barbara, I’ve started blogging about a year ago, after the arrival of itu chubby boy. Hehe. When I was bloghopping, I stumbled upon her blog and asked Irwan to ask her if it IS her blog. (Irwan and mom2ashley were colleagues). Was so excited to “meet” someone I knew and would visit her blog everyday without fail (I love her gooooood morning photos.. and yeah, I learnt digi-scrapping through her too. Hehe.). She’d visit Irfan’s blog and would leave comments whenever there’s a new post. ;)
Over the months, I’ve “met” more mommy and daddy bloggers and the list of visitors at Irfan’s blog (in no particular order) is:
(Eh, berapa ramai kena list? I saw 5 at chumsy’s blog, so I think 5 lah kan?)
I know there are a lot of silent readers out there, especially my good friends (who are also Irfan’s godmas - I miss you guys!!!!) who are scattered all over the world and of course, my father in-law who keeps himself updated with Irfan’s developments via the blog (one of the reasons why Irfan has a blog)… so to all you readers, I’d like to say thank you for reading my nonsensical crap (sometimes) and exchanging ideas about how to care for our kids!! It’s been a pleasure getting to know all of you. :) Cheers!
One more night to go…!!!
May 18th, 2007
YES!! 1 more night to go and Irwan will be back. He’s scheduled to arrive at KLIA at about 5.55 p.m. tomorrow from Seoul me thinks. I shall keep Irfan awake so that he can see his papa return. Kesian the lil’ boy. He’s been so restless these past few nights. And I’ve been trying my best to control myself, but just like her and her, I lost my cool too. And last night, he got 2 smacks on the bottom (protected by the thick pampers lah…) by me.
Why? Because I could see that he was already in deep sleep, then suddenly, eyes open and nak play! *slaps forehead* Patted and hugged him and off he went to sleep. THEN, the eyes opened again and mumbled some incoherent stuff. And it went on and on and on for a few times. Lost my cool, and smacked his bum I did! Afterwards, he stayed put and hugged me ever so tightly (it broke my heart) and off he went to dreamland. Sigh.
And he’s been throwing things too. The more I say “don’t throw!”, the more he’ll throw. If he’s sitting on his high chair, and I refuse to pick up the stuff he throws (after 10 million times, penatlah…) he’ll go “eh eh eh”. So, I give in and grab ‘em stuff and gives him. And what does he do? Throw ‘em some more! So I smack his lil’ grubby fingers, and he still doesn’t learn his lesson. Aiyooooo……!!! This one baru 1 year old. When he hits the terrible 2 stage? Abuden how???
I refused to let him come down from the bed. So, crylah?
