Reminiscing ole times…

June 29th, 2007

14.12.2003. How time has flown by. We’ve been married for the past 3 1/2 years. And have known each other for 7 years. Foowah! Haha. Anyway, one of our good friends sent in this photo to me, along with some other shots too. First thing that crossed my mind was: I don’t remember the stage being THAT biglah? Hahahahaha.. But then again, I don’t remember anything except that I was being super-duper extra careful to make sure that I don’t trip and fall flat on my face with those heels. And yes, I’m not a “heels” person. :P Anyway, the photo was taken during the reception on my side which was held here.

On another note, we brought Irfan to SJMC yesterday, but he was not allowed to have his last pneumococcal jab as he still has some phlegm in him. He’s scheduled to go back in 3 months’ time and take the jab together with all the necessary jabs at 18 months.

While waiting for our turn at SJMC, he was running around endlessly and playing “cak” with everyone nearby. Even went up to one lady who was muching some biscuits and asked for some! Aiyoooo, tak malu sungguh! I bought some sotong balls and chicken sandwich, (which by the way, was my lunch - taken at 4.30 p.m!) and he ate ‘em sotong balls happily. Tsk tsk tsk… And errr, he had some of my orange and lime juice as well as Irwan’s lychee. But he preferred the former, although it was a bit sour. Kept making all his funny faces. And everyone around him was pleasantly entertained. Ada bakat jadi badut (clown) ni. :P

You guys have a good weekend and errr, I heard Zara is having a sale. Yay! But too bad, I’ll be busy running around at our friends’ akad and wedding reception on Saturday and Sunday. Shern’s mommy, we plan for a meet-up soon, okay? Really sorry about yesterday. :)

Enjoying the view outside the car.

Relearn To Drive

June 28th, 2007

If you’ve got RM 1,500 lying around and you have no clue what to do with the money, then you can either:

  1. donate to tabung yayasan irfan (hahahaha!)
  2. go for a holiday somewhere (since MAS and AA have cut their ticket prices by A LOT!)
  3. check this site out and attend one of their classes at SIC.

Anyway, even if you don’t have RM 1,500 lying around, just check the site out and gawk at the cars and how the drivers drive ‘em. And Irwan gets to do it every other weekend! Dammit! Pffffffttttt… And oh, after you’ve “undone the damage” at the site, do click on all the different exercise names to view the video. Awesome!!!!!

Here’s an article written by a 19 year old girl (who just got her “P” license recently) who attended the BMW Advanced Driver Training course. According to her, although she may still hold a “P” license, but she is now a certified BMW-trained driver and she thinks she’s quite ready to take on Malaysian roads. Hehe. Oh man, I should’ve taken the course earlier, then maybe I could’ve fared better during the accident. Oh well…

Tag: How vain are you?

June 27th, 2007

I don’t know why it even said I’m 44% vain, but that was what it said lah! And and I don’t even do make-ups. And my only beauty regime is to wash my face with cleanser, use the toner and moisturizer and once in a while when I’m in the mood, I’d have the mask put on my face. But wait, I can’t even remember when was the last time I had used the mask. Eeeeeeekkk!

You’re a little vain, but more than anything you have a healthy amount of confidence.Thinking the world of yourself is great. Just don’t think less of those who aren’t as pretty as you!

What a condescending last line! I’ve never thought less of those who aren’t as pretty as I am. Heck, I don’t even consider myself as pretty lah. Hahaha! With panda eyes and unmade face, haha, funnylah! ;) Anyway, I’ve always believed that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. :)

Okay Shern’s mommy, I hope you’re satisfied with the tag, ey? Or am I supposed to list down 7 reasons like you did too??

Not gonna tag anyone, but if you feel like doing the quiz, you can check it out here.

Tell me, should I head into a panic attack?!! Just look at the picture belowlah. Aiyooo, is he going to be a metrosexual dude? Oh no!!! Please spare me from such horror! Irfan, I ought to send you to RMC to toughen you up or something! Heh. Not that he’s a wuss lah, but aiyoooo, just look at the way he carries the small baldi-like-thingie. And it’s PINK some more!!! Tsk tsk tsk… (Tak tahu mana mom in-law jumpa)

Anyhow, that’s the way he likes to carry the bags. Sometimes, he’d help me carry his bag upstairs and whenever I sling the bag on his shoulder, he’d slide it down again. I push it upwards to his shoulder again, then he tolak turun balik. Aiseyman.. Irfan! Hehe. Yesterday, I found a bigger bag (which was empty) and ’selimpang’ (eh, what’s selimpang in English?) it from his right shoulder to his left side, and the lil’ fella was gayly (pun intended) walking around the house. And just my luck, my camera ran out of battery and still is! *slaps forehead* Oh well, will try again tonight. Haha!

On another note, his flu and cough seem to be better today. I put on a pair of socks on his tiny feet last night and he thought we were going out and pointed towards his shoes because he thought I had forgotten to put them on for him. Heh. He only slept at about 10 p.m., probably because Irwan was around and he wanted to play, although his eyes were half opened. Hahahaha! Then, he woke up at 6 a.m, had his milk and refused to sleep back. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll have a looooooong nap today.

Oh yah, he fell down this morning and cut his lips. Poor boy. Sniff sniff. Whole of Bangsar could hear him wail lah, but after I gave him some water, his cries stopped and it was as if nothing happened. Eh? Pelik betul? Thankfully the cut isn’t so big and I don’t think he cracked his teeth or anything like that. Oh well, part of growing up, I guess? Bleh!

Kena buli! Hehe!

Lil’ phlegm-y boy.. :(

June 25th, 2007

Sigh. The poor boy has been coughing the past few days and his phlegm sounds so horrible. It doesn’t sound so bad during the day, but come night, it’s horrigible! And then it doesn’t help that he likes to kick the comforter away. Everytime I wrap his lil’ body with the comforter, less than 5 minutes away, he’ll be out of the “cocoon” already. *slaps forehead*

Irwan got back almost midnight last night and the lasak boy was sleeping nicely at the foot of the bed! Had he been 5 minutes late, Irfan might have tergolek-ed from the bed already. And true enough, as we were chatting (Irwan roused me up from my sleep to feed me some bread), that cannot-keep-still-for-one-minute boy guling-guling on the bed and landed in Irwan’s arms. Heh. Whatlah, bed so big, must go sleep at the foot of the bed pulak! Tsk tsk tsk..

Anyway, was at KLCC yesterday to get some stuff done and decided to check out M&S since shoppermom said that the kids’ clothes there are reasonably priced. Nolah babe, Zara’s cheaper because Euro is less expensive than those damn friggin’ Pounds! Urrrggghhhh! Haha. Found some stuff for myself, but they only had super-big sizes. Pfffttt. Headed to Zara after that and again, found some cool stuff, but they didn’t have my sizelah! Darn! I think I was not meant to spend money on clothes yesterday. :P But I still need to look for shoes to wear on Azlin’s wedding! Juliah, any good shoes available at Shoes, Shoes, Shoes?

Gotta call my buddies to chill out tonite y’all

I so can’t wait to have my hair cut like hers!

Bah! Everyone’s got the flu. And I’ve got the sore throat too, hence the voice sounds more or less like Donal Duck. Pffffffttttt… I just hope I don’t have a fever or anything. Cannot afford to lah! Haiyaaaa…

Irfan’s pretty sombre this morning. Well, he was already quite quiet last night and had difficulty going to sleep as his nose was pretty blocked. I guess he was annoyed that he couldn’t breathe properly. Was fighting with me to go to sleep although his eyes were really really red and all. When his eyes were closed, he was babbling in between sucking his pacifier. I don’t know how he did it, but it was quite funny. Haha!

The picture below was taken while we were at IKEA on Sunday. Had to get a replacement mirror for the living area. He had a fun time standing on that trolley as he refused to sit on the smaller trolley. Konon-konon big boy like that. Must push the trolley, not sit on it like a baby. Cheh!

See, I’m a big boylah, Mama!!!

Likes to bite things while walking. Ade ke?

Grandpa’s back!

June 19th, 2007

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you all for the well wishes and advices. :)

Secondly, the grandpa’s back and he came back with hair all over his face and scared the lil’ tyke away! Hahahaha. He refused to go to my father in-law and was hugging my mother in-law ever so tightly! LOL!

I brought Irfan to KLCC on Saturday (before the blasted accident happened) and since I was alone, and had to get so many things, decided to put him on his stroller instead lah. He co-operated for about an hour, and after that, he started to get restless. And I still had some more things to buy. Aiseh..

So as usual, he’d kick up a fuss and cry at the top of his lungs and that would attract ‘em evil starers. Not that I give two hoots, but sometimes, their stares are just unbelievablelah! And what with them shaking their heads and whispering. Urrrggghhh!!!

Anyway, I thought since he wants to assert his independence, we’d send the stuff and his stroller back to the car and then head over to KLCC park for him to roam the grounds freely lah. And we did just that. And he got a balloon from some stranger and was happily playing with it and after 2 minutes, it exploded! No expression from him. He wasn’t afraid or anything, but that ‘blur’ look was just priceless! Too bad I was busy laughing and didn’t get a chance to snap a picture of him. Oh well…

After contaminating ourselves with the tobacco smell for about 15 minutes or so, Irfan and I walked all the way to the carpark and he slept in the car while on the way to Bangsar. Hehe. Must’ve been very tired.. ;)

Mama, gimme back the boyoon!!

Shame shame!

It all started a few days ago. One of the tyres on Irwan’s car had to be patched up as there was a small nail on it. But then, when I sent Irwan to SIC on Saturday morning, the same tyre was again flat. So, we decided to change to the spare tyre, but it was not to be as the spare tyre was for 13″ and the brakes were meant for tyres 14″ and above. Drove to the nearest Petronas, but all the air pumps were out of use. Since Irwan was already late, I sent him back to SIC and thought I’d pump the air at the Dengkil Petronas. Again, the air pump was out of use. (What is wrong with having a working one??? Urgghhh!!!!) No choice, had to drive slowly and get to Putrajaya and pump up the tyre. Everything went well. Phew.

After a short stint at KLCC, left Irfan at my parents’ place in Bangsar and headed to one of Irwan’s regular workshops at Taman Mayang to change the tyre. I told Irwan in the morning to call Ian (the owner) and let him know what tyres he wants, but that husband of mine forgot to call and I was left to make the decision. Ian said Irwan’s been eyeing on the BFGoodrich tyres. They are damn good on wet roads but they cost a whopping RM 230 (thereabouts) per piece! I wanted him to change all 4 tyres, but he was afraid that Irwan might not like ‘em tyres and said to just change the 2 front ones first. And see how things go. (I should HAVE insisted on changing ALL four tyres!)

When everything was set to go, Ian said to me: “You’ve gotta get used to the tyres. They’re different from the previous ones, but they’re really good.” And I should have friggin’ heeded his advice! Dammit!

To cut a long story short, I picked Irfan up from Bangsar and rushed to get Irwan because he was at SIC from 8 a.m, and it was already close to 6.00 p.m. and he needed to get to work at 7 p.m. and finish at 7 a.m. the next day and THEN go to SIC again after that. Basically it was a 36 hours straight for him.

The tyres were good. The front ones were. And I should HAVE listened to Ian. And I should have listened to my gut feeling. Why the f*ck I didnt, was beyond me, except that I wanted to get to Irwan ASAP so that he can have his shower, his dinner and his rest before going back to work.

While on KLIA (Elite) highway, I overtook a taxi on my right. I was probably going about 100 km/h in the rain. The moment I overtook the taxi, I had this strange feeling in me, that something bad is going to happen. YET I didn’t let go of the damn accelerator. Idiot of me, yes I know. I’ve been playing the whole damn thing over and over in my head with all the “what if’s” or “could have’s” and what have yous.

I was reading “bismillah” out loud after overtaking the taxi and 30 seconds after that, the car aquaplaned and did a 360 degrees turn TWICE, whacked the damn divider on the right, spun another 360 degrees again - crossing the middle and left most lanes (at that time, one hand was holding the steering, while the other was holding Irfan down, although he was tightly strapped in the carseat, and the eyes looking at all the cars zooming and trying to avoid us while silently praying to Allah that no one hits us - friggin’ scary I tell you!), whacked the divider again before halting on the right most lane. (Everything I know about defensive driving just didn’t work at that time!) Engine was still working, but the compressor and radiator must’ve been hit because I saw smoke and the aircond was starting to get warm.

Frantically, I searched for my phone (by the way, Irfan was his usual self, didn’t know what has happened) and when I couldn’t find it, I gave out a scream and that startled the poor boy and he gave out a cry too. I soothed him and found my phone and with hands trembling, speed dialled Irwan’s no, telling him that I may have totalled his car. When Irfan saw me crying, he cried with me too, and Irwan told me to take him out of the car seat and pacify him. He sensed that I was scared and all, and he just hugged me and stayed quietly.

I tell you, Malaysians are a bunch of mofo’s! I was blardy stranded in the car, rain pouring, cars zooming and they were honking me as if telling me to move away. HEL-LO? Cannot see that I had an accident is it? If I could move, don’t you think I would have???? I couldn’t because the fender and driveshaft dan patah/bengkok. But the PLUS guys forced the steering wheel, hence the new tyres are a bit rosak. Urrrgghhhhh!!

Anyway, after what seemed like an eternity, a tow truck came and the guy told me to get out of the car for the sake of our safety and to wait in his tow truck. (It was very scary watching all the cars zooming fast while sitting in a stagnant car on the right most lane, not being able to do anything). I did just that, and soon enough, more “vultures” arrived. Thank god Ian’s brother, Ivan, who was on his way back from SIC saw the accident and called Irwan and asked if I was on the way. Once he knew that I was the one in the car, he did a u-ey to help me out.

5 minutes after being in the tow truck, Ivan arrived and Irfan and I waited for Irwan in his scooby. ;) Once the tow truck arrived, we towed the car to the Subang police station and the Sarjan there was really helpful. Car’s in a pretty bad shape. And I’m so thankful to Allah that Irfan is safe and I only have a whiplash and a few bruises on my hand and knees. I’m taking this as a warning from Allah telling me to slow the hell down! I swear, if anything had happened to Irfan, for the life of me, I will never EVER forgive myself. Thank god for the car seat. I don’t want to even think what would have happened had I not put Irfan in his car seat. Sheeessshhh.. na’uzubillah!

So boys and girls, please drive safely. Especially when your kid(s) is/are with you. Please also ensure that they are placed in their respective carseats. Now, I need to hijack one of my parents’ cars. And also do a majlis kesyukuran. I really am thankful for the divine intervention. Twice in a week. Wow!

Thankfully, Irwan’s not even mad at me, he didn’t even nag me. He’s just happy that both of us are safe. And we’re looking for a new car. I feel really awful for crashing his car. Sigh. Anyway, here are some photos of the car.

Hopefully the MIVEC engine is okay.

Kesian the car…

The back is gone too, but not as bad as the front.

The bumper was picked up by the PLUS people as it was obstructing the left lane.

Hancur, wey!!!!

Alhamdulillah he is okay… that’s the MOST important thing!

Videos of Irfan

June 15th, 2007

I GIVE UP! Ok, I can’t seem to be able to upload the youtube video here, so I’m just gonna leave the links, yah?

Video of Irfan kemas-ing his pampers box can be seen here.

Video of the lil’ tyke walking (a bit) can be viewed here.

His steps are better now. He roams himself freely, to wherever he wants to go to. Only think I’m worried is the pool at my parents’ place. So, gotta be extra careful with that. Other than that, he likes to walk, and doesn’t like to sit for long and wouldn’t ask people to carry as often as before too. Hehe. Ok, now we have GOT to take the backpack-leash-thingiemajigie out! ;)

Crazy! - that’ll be the exact same thing you’ll say once you’ve finished reading this post.

See, yesterday, after work, my brother and I went to MV to grab some tickets for this movie. After that, we headed for my parents’ home. Usually, I’d lock my car and leave the key in the drawer inside the house and end of storylah. But yesterday, there were some grocery stuff in the car, so I left the car unlocked for the maids to take them out. And I told my brother that I’ll lock the car later.

Chilled for a bit in the house and then both Irfan and I were ready to go home lah. And then I thought that I’d lock my car and pass the key to my mom so that she can keep it back in the drawer. (I don’t drive my car home to Putrajaya. Our house does not have a gate, and the car I drive is one of the “hot cars” targetted by ‘em thieves.) So, anyway, on our way out, I realized that I forgot to ask the maid to put the dinner I bought in Irwan’s car. I took the bags of food, together with 2 keys: my car and Irwan’s car, and locked my car and put the food in the car, strapped Irfan is his car seat, salam-ed and kissed my mom and off we went.

When I wanted to leave for work after dropping Irfan off this morning, I searched high and low for the key! I even asked my mom since the last thing I remember was that I asked her to keep the key for me. She said I didn’t pass her any key yesterday. Sei lo! Called my driver parents’ driver and asked him if he took the car key, and he said he did not. Mati mati mati! Looked in my handbag, checked my pants (but I am not wearing the same one I wore yesterday.. duh!), went looking in Irwan’s car, but I couldn’t find the damn key! And I didn’t want to ask my dad for the spare key because I wasn’t in the mood to listen to him “sing” song. :P If you get what I mean…

So, my brother suggested we go in his car, but I said nevermindlah, we shall go in Irwan’s car as I needed to patch one of ‘em tyres. While driving, I made my brother korek the whole car for the key. Nada. Zilch. Urrrrrgghhhh!!!!

After I parked my car at the office, I took out Irfan’s car seat, terbalikkan the whole car and still couldn’t find the key!!! Main sorok-sorok apa????? Got so frustrated and was trying to backtrack what I did yesterday and still couldn’t recall what happened after I locked my car. I was so frustrated and wanted to drive back to Putrajaya to check and see if the key is in my other pants or if I had accidentally dropped it off in the food bag, which was already in the bin outside waiting to be picked up by the sampah man. If it was the latter, definitely mati!!!!!

So, my secretary said to look again in the car. I was too tired, so I asked my brother to go have a look. After 5 minutes, he came back up with the key! Halle-lujah!

Now, where was the key you may ask?

I have this (bad) habit of putting things on the car roof whenever I strap Irfan in his car seat. Usually I’d REMEMBER that there are thing(s) there. But yesterday, I completely forgot that I had placed my car key on the roof!

So, when I drove the car yesterday, it slid down and got stuck to Irwan’s car spoiler. I don’t have a key chain, but what I have is the captor remote, which is the one that got stuck onto the spoiler. And just last week I wanted to take the remote off as the battery was about to die. If I had done that, my car key wouldn’t have survived the trip of Bangsar-Putrajaya-Bangsar-Old Klang Road, with the maximum speed of 170 km/h. Yes, I went that far (at least what? 100km?) and that fast, and yet the car key was at the spoiler. Alhamdulillah.

So, crazy or not? Heh!

Now, I shall refrain myself from putting anything on the car roof.
