Ring ring…

“Eh, phone ringinglah…”

*picks up the phone*

“Hello, Irfan speaking. How may I helptch-yew?”

“Uhuh. Huh? Hello? Hello?”

“Owh.. Mama? Hang on yeah?”

“Maaa… call for you!”

“Cepatlah sikit.. terhegeh-hegeh with the camera for what?”

*puts the call on hold with some skema song while waiting for Mama yang jalan mengalahkan a snail’s pace*

Big bully!

July 26th, 2007

We went to visit my grandpa at my aunt’s place yesterday and my aunt has a son who is 2 months younger than Irfan. His name is Kimi (yeah, future F1 driver.. lol!). Anyway, Irfan got excited upon seeing a friend who’s roughly his age and started babbling some unintelligible stuff and the uncle reciprocate. So off they went gallivanting around the house while we had our dinner, and the next thing I knew, Kimi was crying! Apparently, Irfan whacked his uncle’s face! Oh my god!!!!! And this went on for quite a bit.

I guess when Kimi has had enough, he decided to whack Irfan back and the big bully started crying like there’s no tomorrow pulak! Aik? Tadi whack people, now kena whack balik dah cry? Tsk tsk tsk.. tak macho ah!

Since then onwards, whenever Kimi started to get close to him (to just play), Irfan would get all paranoid (takut kena belasah balik) and run towards Irwan or I. LOL. It was all harmless and pure fun, so I just let them be lah. Sensing that his parents are probably saying that he isn’t macho anymore, Irfan decided to toughen himself and beranikan diri to ‘play’ again with Kimi. After a few failed attempts, we heard Kimi’s wailings again, and there, on his (Kimi’s) face, was this deep red mark. Yes, you read right, that son of mine went and pinched Kimi’s cheeks and tarik the flesh using his nails! *slaps forehead* I apologized profusely to my aunt but she just said it’s okay. Part of growing up. Well, she should knowlah, since she’s got 5 boys herself! Eeeekkkk.. banyak tu!

Anyway, Irfan then decided to play with his older uncles, age 8 and 10 and with them, he could do anything to them, and those poor boys just layan him. Ish! Told the boys to discipline him a bit, and their replies? “Takpelah, kecik lagi… macam Kimi..” Yeah yeah, nice! Nanti when you boys kena buli lagi teruk, don’t come looking for me, otay? :P

I should visit my aunt more often so that Irfan can mingle around. And she lives just 5 minutes away from our home. Heh.

On another note, Irfan’s getting better now. I bought him Scott’s Emulsion on Tuesday and I bought both the original and orange flavoured one, just in case he rejects the original one. Decided to test the original one on him first since it has DHA and whathaveyous, and surprise surprise, he didn’t reject the awful taste. I smelt it pun dah nak pengsan, but he was okay. Pelik betul. But anyhow, alhamdulillah. :) I haven’t changed his milk yet, and we shall see how it goes for the next few weeks. Hopefully his immune system would be better with him eating Scott’s everyday. One can only pray and hope….

In our room at Concorde Hotel.

Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!

Not again… sigh..!!!

July 24th, 2007

Okay, so that’s it! I’m done giving him Enfapro for now. Will contact his paed to order god knows how many cartons of Enfalac HA. This is just so depressinglah. Irfan has never been a sickly baby before this. Okaylah, he’s had the Salmonella scare, the HFMD, but he’s never had fever, flu and cough alternated between the weeks! This is just absurd! And my poor baby is suffering. Urrrrgggghhh!!! *pulls hair*

He was fine last week. He recovered from the fever, spots and flu and was happily running around. Then yesterday, he started coughing. Late in the evening, he became Mr. Sniffles yet again. And it was quite bad because he was having a restless night since his nose is all blocked and he can’t breathe properly and can’t suck his pacifier since he needs to breathe through his mouth. So when you have an unhappy baby, you get 2 sleepless parents!

As it is, he’s probably lost about 300-400 grams already. And that’s a lot wey! For him to gain back the weight, sigh, don’t know for how long it’ll take lah! He hates his porridge already. He’d rather have fried rice, chicken rice, rice with lauk-pauk or noodles. Maybe I should change his menu lah, and prepare him his dinner once in a while. Thing is, by the time I get home, it’s already close to 8 p.m. And by the time I whip something up for him, it’s waayy past his bedtime already! Urrrrrggghhhhh! Stress makcik!

Anyway, does anyone know where I can buy the Enfalac HA ASAP? It’ll probably take a couple of weeks for the order to go through his paed (whom I haven’t spoken to yet because she hasn’t been answering her phone at the clinic and I lost her handphone number in my previous handphone, so gotta wait for mom in-law to pass the phone number to me) and I need to change his milk like real soon! Bah! Any other recommendations aside from Enfalac HA? I’m really picky about changing his milklah. But his immune system has been quite bad so, I think I should change his milk for now.

Hello people!

Errr, yes, can I have some fries with that too? Thanks!

… I didn’t have to pull that much hair for the past week. LOL! BUT I did get a heart attack when the lil’ dude dunked my handphone errrrr.. *counting days with fingers now as I’ve lost track of days/dates* … 3 days ago in a pail full of water and I only realized that the phone was missing after 10 minutes. Sigh. The phone was unsalvageable (is there a word?). Or like what Zalin said, phone dah jadi arwah. Heh. I’m not upset that the phone is gone, but I’m quite pissed that I lost some of the contacts that were saved in the phonelah. Haiyaaaaa… Oh well, what to do? So, anyway, got myself a replacement, nothing canggih-manggih, just the Nokia 5300 and burnt RM 650 in my wallet which I could fully utilize in Bangkok! Urrgggghhh!! :P And oh, what was I busy doing sampai tak sedar phone was missing? I was watching the new season of this on Channel V. Hehe.

Anyway, here’s mostly how Irfan and I have spent the days:

  • 7.30 a.m. The young master gets up and wakes everyone up.

  • 8.30 a.m. Breakfast is served.

  • 8.45 a.m. Waves Papa goodbye.

  • 9.30 or 10.00 a.m. Irfan naps. (I get to have my ‘me’ time.. :))

  • 12.30 p.m. Wakes up from nap and the two of us have our lunch.

  • After lunch, we usually play with his toys or hide and seek or kejar-kejar (Video can be seen here).

  • 2.00 p.m. or 2.30 p.m. Irfan naps again. (Sometimes I nap with him too.. heh!)

  • 4.30 p.m. or 5.00 p.m. Tyke is up and we play another round of kejar-kejar or hide and seek or watch the birds and squirrels kat belakang rumah. (He sometimes like to chase the birds and the squirrels and gets all excited!)

  • 6.30 p.m. Dinner is served.

  • After dinner, I let Irfan and my brother play with their toy cars while I watch some shows on the telly.

  • 8.00 p.m. Bedtime for Irfan.

So yeah, basically that’s roughly how we have spent our days. I took him out to BSC on Monday and to LCCT and then to MidValley on Wednesday. He behaved rather well, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything worth buying at MV, so I didn’t get anything. Chet! Waste of time… since the MNG and ZARA sales were crap. Bleh.

He’s napping now and when he wakes up, I need to get some stuff from our Putrajaya house and also to leave most things there as my parents will be back tomorrow morning and Irwan, Irfan and I will be staying here during the weekend as Irwan has some convention thingie going on there.

Hope you guys will have a good weekend, yah??? :)

 Irfan and Papa.

Irfan has recovered from whatever it is he’s had the past week, so alhamdulillah, we’re all very relieved. Phew. I just hope that nothing else will crop up after this lah.. yikes!!!

Anyway, yes, since last Friday, I have not been going to work as my parents are in Europe and my in-laws have been commuting KL-KB to visit a sick relative before they have to fly back to Perth at the end of the month. So who else to take care of the lil’ tyke? The Mama of course! And so far, he’s been behaving rather well *crossing fingers* and we’ve been spending a lot of bonding sessions too. :) We’re currently staying at my parents’ place, so I do get a lil’ bit of help from the maids, but on most times, he just wants to be with me. HOWEVER, when the Papa gets home, it’s as though the Mama never have existed in the first place. Sigh. Quite sad, but what to do? LOL!

Okay, so I plan to get some shopping done, but we’ll see how he behaves today. Haha. Shern’s mommy, I don’t think I’d be able to shop as much as you did, but I’m hoping to do so when we’re in Bangkok next month. Hahahahaha….

p/s: If I don’t visit/comment/update as often as I did previously, please bear with me ’til I get back to work, yah? :)

My handsome boy…

On the road to recovery…

July 11th, 2007

So far his fever has subsided and his spots have not spread to other places, just those on his face and body. Thank you everyone for your concerns and recommendations and what have yous. Really, I wish there was a Parenting 101 book to help us parents during times like these. Sigh.

He still refused to eat much last night, and didn’t want his milk either. But today, for lunch, my mom decided to blend his porridge and he ate better and finished the entire bowl. Phew! Alhamdulillah. My only worry is his cough. It’s not getting better and it gets worse during the night. If I switch the aircond off, would the rashes get worse because of the heat?

Anyway, I’m crossing my fingers that nothing else will happen after this. And am thinking of switching back to Enfalac HA. His immune system was better when he was drinking HA. But I don’t know for sure yet. Will have to consult his paed on this matter. Oh, by the way, right now he’s drinking Enfapro. Any suggestions anyone?

Had calamine lotion all over his face and body.

Urrrrgghhhh!

July 10th, 2007

Spotslah pulak!!!!!!!!! Aiseh, I’m soooo frustratedlah. I don’t know what’s wrong with him. And to top it off, a visit to a child’s clinic in Bangsar (I was thinking if in Bangsar maybe doctor betterlah) proved pointless! She (the paed) said that Irfan looks healthy (he was running around, playing with things, like as though there was nothing wrong - padahal before that, clinging like a koala bear, no energy, nothing!) and as for the spots, maybe it’s Rubella or some viral infection. I then asked her how can we know? She replied by saying, oh, that depends whether I want Irfan to go through a blood test or not. What is that? If it’s important, prick ajelah and check what virus he’s got? Why leave the decision to me? How I know? If I know, why would I go and see her? Ish!

So anyway, I asked her the seriousness of it and if she’d recommend to have his blood taken for a test. Her reply? “Up to youlah. I want to know what sort of parent you are. Whether you’d submit him to that kind of ordeal or not.” WTF? Seriously, WTF???? Oh maaaannnn, I’m so NOT going to any clinics anymore after this. After 10 minutes of consultation (and her checking his throat, lungs and temperature), she couldn’t arrive with any conclusion and said if his fever is still around today, I should bring him in and then we’ll see if he needs antibiotics or have his blood taken for a test. She said I should keep continuing giving him his medicines (she didn’t ask what I have, I supplied her the information) and after giving me this shitty look for having Irfan go through this and this she said we were good to go. Whatever doc.

I got home and decided to give Irfan some antibiotics. And no, I didn’t get the antibiotics from her. I got it from the previous clinic. Seriously, I don’t even know why I went to that Bangsar clinic. Not that I got any helpful informationslah. Sigh. Why need Irfan to come back today? Why couldn’t she have checked him thoroughly? Aiyoooooo….

So, should I bring him to SJMC for a blood test? I called my mom a few minutes ago and she said that Irfan’s spots are only on his face and body. Same as this morning lah. And she had to force him to have his nestum as he’s refusing his milk. Poor baby… :(

Get well soon buddy!

I hope it’s nothing serious. His temperature has been fluctuating since last Thursday. Sometimes he’s okay. Sometimes, he’s all kesian looking and no energy to do anything but to just lie down. Poor baby. And as of yesterday, he has loose stool.

Some people think that it’s because of him teething. But he’s never had loose stool or fever whenever his tooth/teeth came out. I guess there’s always a first time for everything, ey? And to top that off, his chest is a bit phlegm-y. Aiyooooooooo….

So anyway, on Saturday night, we brought him to this clinic nearby in-laws’ place. Sigh. The doctor’s a bit doong-doong if you know what I mean! First of all, he doesn’t know what hydroxyzine is! For the love of god, it’s a type of antihistamine that’s helpful when the cough is disrupting one’s sleep. Secondly, before I entered his room, I had placed a wet cloth on Irfan’s forehead to cool his body a lil’ bit. You know how he took Irfan’s body temperature? By placing this paper-like thermometer thing on his forehead and then arrived with a conclusion that Irfan’s temperature is still okay. What the….???? Whatever. I then asked him for some suppositories (that is the name, right?) and when he gave me a blurred look, I said alah, that pill thingie you put via the anus to cool down the temperature. Ohhhhh, then he got it! *slaps forehead*

The suppository worked that night. Irfan was better yesterday. But he slept soooo long, I missed his company. LOL! Then we went for a wedding, and he was running around, playing happily, had some milk, some nasi minyak, then he pooped again. He pooped earlier on during the day and it was watery. The second time pun watery jugak. And again today, still watery. Should I half-strength his milk? Or should I get Isomil?

On another note, Irfan had his haircut here last Saturday. Thankfully, it was sponsored by my mom. Otherwise, you wouldn’t catch Irwan paying RM 25 for a child’s haircut! Hahahaha! But his hair looks better now. Easier to manage. :)

Okay, off to google for children’s clinics around Bangsar. If got time, I’ll send him to one after work. Anyone knows of any good reputable children’s clinic? Thanks!

Saturday night. He was a bit better.

Getting ready to go for a wedding.

Sigh. Poor boy has had two accidents this week. One was on Monday night. And the second one was yesterday evening. Sigh. All these accidents are inevitable ke? I knowlah he’s a boy, and likes to jump around and can’t sit still for a minute (more like a second!), but is it normal for them to jatuh here, scratch there, tersungkur here, terjelepuk there? It breaks my heart to see him cry and get hurt, but the lil’ tyke moves at lightning speed! Oh my god, he’s just sooooooo fast!

On Monday, he fell off from the chair at our house while I was doing the dishes. Yesterday evening, while chasing his toy car at my in-laws’, he lost his balance and knocked himself at the edge of the Burmese chair. Hence, his eyelid was bengkak. Sigh.

Anyway, on a happier note, we (Irfan and I) had so much fun playing with his toy cart yesterday. The cart was originally Izwan’s (my youngest brother in-law) and was passed down to Irfan. All (if not most) of his toys are in there, so that they’re not berterabur everywhere lah. He’s been langgar-ing everyone and everything with his cart, so I decided to play with him. It was like the bull (Irfan) and the matador (me) like that. Haha. It was just hilarious! He’d reverse all the way (without even looking back! - I’d have to make sure he tak langgar anything) and gather his strength and speed and lunge forward towards me. I, on the other hand, had to avoid him lah. He was just soooo happy.

I was afraid that the speed might cause some more accident on him, so I decided to sit on the cart. Thought that he wouldn’t be able to push. Oh my, how unbelievably wrong I was! He was able to push me and the cart, although not as fast, and when he hits something and can’t move forward anymore, he’d pull the cart (with me sitting on top of it!) all the way back and repeat the whole drama again. Man, I should’ve made Irwan record a video of that. Nevermind, I’m sure he’d repeat the stunt again, and when he does, the camera’ll be waiting for him!! Woo-hoo!

Edited: Here’s him trying to do a tap dance –> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltV3pTWmNWc

I told you to open the door! Aarrrrrrggghhh!

The cart looks something like this, but slightly higher. :)
