Siam: The Land of Tomyam…
August 29th, 2007
We will be leaving for Bangkok tonight and yeah, yeah, very UN-patriotic.. but hey, we’ll be at the Malaysian embassy tomorrow night to celebrate Malaysia’s 50th independence. Ok wot? :P Anyway, you guys have a great holiday, and for those who will be travelling, do drive safely and stay away from ‘em big buses. Hehe.
To my brother, Happy 22nd Birthday, bro! :) Will get you your present in Bangkok, yeah?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! ;)
Of him hurting us!
August 27th, 2007
I don’t know what was up with my son, but last night, he hit me on my nose using the edge of the spoon, and while I was writhing in pain, he thought he’d attack his Papa too, by throwing a big container to his face, thus bleeding the mouth. Don’t ask me, I don’t know where all the energy/anger came from. We weren’t scolding him, but everyone (Irwan, bro in-law, sis in-law and I) was just busy watching the DVD, and he was playing on his own before that, with the occcassional interruptions here and there. And then suddenly…… ish!
I knew that no amount of scolding will make him understand. So I made him sit on his highchair, isolated from everyone else for a good 15 minutes or so. Initially, he didn’t fret, and was just looking at us running up and down looking for bonjela to put on Irwan’s lips, but after a while, I guess he got bored and started to cry. Irwan wanted to take him out, but I told him to leave the lil’ boy in there for another 5 minutes and we continued watching the DVD (with his crying heard in the background). When the time was up, I carried him out and he hugged me real tightly, as though feeling remorseful and all. Sheaaaaahhhh right!
10 minutes later, he started biting and hitting us!
*slaps forehead*
Anyway, I think this is just a phase, and like many of his other phases, this too will go away. BUT I don’t like it when he starts hurting people. It’s not good. And children don’t know how to handle their strength. So how?

As you can see, I’ve had a busy week designing layouts for my designers and doing some challenges over at My Digital Muse where I am the site’s CT creative team member. I’ve got a few more layouts to do for my other designers, so I will be busy for the next couple of days or so. And I have to settle them before leaving KL to go to this jammed up city.
On another note, Irfan is behaving rather well. I’m not sure if he realizes that his Papa is not around, but he’s been his cheerful self and sleeping longer too. I think he’s probably drowsy from the Singulair tablets he’s been chewing at night, but I’m not complaininglah. As long as he rests well, it’s all good! :)
Okay, back to designing layouts now….
One helluva hectic weekend!
August 20th, 2007
Our weekend was a crazy one. I’m still feeling tired and sleepy as it is. LOL.
On Friday night, we went to Jarrod & Rawlins to meet up with one of Irfan’s godmas and we were there ’til about 2 a.m. And yes, Irfan was asleep throughout. Poor Yannie, Irfan didn’t get to see her and she didn’t get to play with her godson. Oh well, I’ll find a way to get to Sydney okay, Yannie??? :P
Then, we brought Irfan to see his paed on Saturday and it was the longest wait ever! We went to Subang Parade, had lunch, bought groceries and left for SJMC at 2 p.m. and we only got to see his paed at 4 p.m!!!Remind me to never go on Saturdays again, yeah?
So anyway, Irfan’s phlegm and runny nose didn’t look like they were going to go away, so his paed gave him Singulair and something else for his runny nose. Alhamdulillah, his phlegm and flu have gone away. We’ve got to be extra careful with him because both Irwan and I had asthma when we were younger and my younger brother had really terrible ashtma (which he has outgrown) when he was a kid. It’s in the family, hence we have to be extra careful lah. And Irwan has sinus, so you knowlah how it is. That, too, is hereditary (me thinks?!). Sigh.
Then all of a sudden after meeting Irfan’s paed, I was told by that husband of mine that he’s invited some of his friends over to the house for some makan session before we head over to PICC to watch the fireworks. I was like whaaaaaatttt??? The house’s a mess and I didn’t prepare anything? Potluck it seems, according to him. Hrmmppphhh! Thanks for giving me “ample” notice! :P
Went over to my parents’ place to pick my brother up and to “steal” some of my mom’s cutleries and stuff and rushed over to prepare the table and chairs and what have yous. Barely 15 minutes of preparing, Adian and family arrived. And the rest followed suit.
I met Shern, his mommy and daddy for the first time that night as we were supposed to meet up earlier, but Shern’s daddy had to get some things done and was only be available at night, so I invited them over for makan session at our place. Thanks for making the trip, guys! Really appreciate it. :) We should go for another makan session, yeah?
At 10 p.m, we left the house and headed towards PICC. Oh-my-gawd! Never have I seen such jam in Putrajaya! The cars were not moving at all, so everyone just left their cars in the middle of the 3-lane highway and went up to the nearest bukit or bridge or flyover to catch the fireworks. The Malaysian team was really awesome! For more pictures, do visit Jazzmint’s photoblog. And because of herlah I got to know about the competition. Otherwise, tak tahu worrrr…. For more info on the fireworks (it’ll be on ’til 2nd of September), do visit this site.
We had to take a long route to get home. Shern’s family and Aidan’s (not to be mistaken by mom2ashley’s Aidan) family left straightaway after the fireworks, but some of our other friends followed us back home to have makan session part 2! Haha. We had cakes and Haagen Dazs. Yummy!
I slept after cleaning up but even after sweeping the floor thrice, my living area was infested with ants when I woke up in the morning because the kids had stained the rug with Coke/7-up. Sigh. Oh well…
Then yesterday, I was busy cleaning up the house and had to pack for Irwan since he’ll be leaving for Korea tonight. Irfan had a veeerrryyyy long nap and made us late for Z’s birthday party. It was a pyjama party and Irfan won the best pyjama dressed boy! Yay!!! I think Mrika (the most artistic and rajin mummy I know!) was giving us face since yesterday was the second time we’ve met. I also met the writer of this blog for the first time yesterday. :)
All in all, we had lots of fun. Irfan was soooo knackered that he fell asleep right after the party (around 6-ish like that) til about 7 a.m. this morning. So, since he was asleep, Irwan and I managed to watch this movie last night. Hehe.
Now, hopefully Irfan will behave since his Papa will be away for about 5 days. Wish me luck, people! ;)

Having fun with the slide.
The blue and white propeller…
August 16th, 2007
I guess by now everyone (if not most) knows that Irwan works for this company, so it’s no surprise that Irfan goes crazy whenever he sees the blue and white propeller badge! If we are walking somewhere, and he sees a BMW car, he’d run towards the car, point at the badge on the hood as well as those he can find on ‘em rims. Of course, he points to other makes as well, but he knows that the blue and white propeller badge means BMW.
So, during the bloggers’ meet last weekend, Irwan was reading a car magazine and when Irfan saw pages featuring the E90, he got all excited and insisted to have the magazine. And when we flipped the pages to other makes, he refused to check the other cars, and only wanted ‘em beemers/bimmers! Tsk. Kecik-kecik dah pandai?
Anyway, Shannon and Tecky were quite amused and asked us to start saving money so that when he has his license, we can buy him the Ultimate Driving Machine. Sheeeeaaaaahhhhh right!
Then this morning, he was quite cranky as he got up at 6 in the morning, and so to pacify him, my dad said “Ok, Atuk bring you jalan-jalan in the BMW, ok? We go in the BMW to A&W, how about that?” Within seconds, Irfan transformed from Mr. Cranky to Mr. Goodboy. Aiyoooooooo…..
Checking out the 3 series.
Sooooo engrossed! Terbalik pun takpelah.. haha!
Awesome rims!!!!
Come, I show you my favourite car!
Bloggers’ meet @ Marmalade Cafe.
August 13th, 2007
This is a scrap I did for Hawra. Thanks Zalin! I owe you one. :)
Anyway, last Saturday, we had a bloggers’ meet at Marmalade Cafe BV II. It was a farewell gathering for Yvonne and a meet-up with Julian and family since they were in town. There were a lot of people, and I, for one, didn’t recognize the parents, but their children instead! Haha! I mean afterall, we do blog about our kids and splash their photos all over our blog, so it’s only normal that I recognize ‘em kids lah, and not the parents! :P
So, the boys and girls had fun, running around, screaming about and driving their parents mental! I didn’t get to chat with too many people. I was mostly chatting with Shannon and Sasha since we were seated at the same table, as well as mom2ashley&aidan. Aidan is just soooo chubby and pinchable! Too bad I didn’t get to snap his photos. Sigh. What a waste!
All in all, Irfan enjoyed himself. Unfortunately he knocked himself on the glass door outside Marmalade, thus “blue-blacking” his forehead (and yes, there was a bump too!). To be honest, he’s been having accidents everyday for the past week. Sigh. My next kiddo will be strapped in a full-faced helmet and an armour suit! :P
Thanks Barbara for organizing the meet! And to those of you that I didn’t get to chat with, hopefully we shall meet again some other time, yah? ;)
Jayden, the superbaby… ;)
Cheeky Ryan who will be moving to Singapore with his parents. :)
Pretty Rachel.
Screaming Irfan! :P
For the love of god…
August 10th, 2007
…will you nosey people just stop staring??!!!! There’s nothing going on, just a kid crying and throwing tantrums, so please… get the move on and piss off!
Gawd! I can’t believe the audacity of some people! We were at Bangsar Village yesterday (and going again tomorrow.. hehe!) and Irfan was cranky (most probably because it was waaaaaaayyy past his bedtime) and he was screaming and throwing tantrums and this one lady, she actually stopped walking, stared at us and I stared at her back, kept staring at how we handled Irfan, still stared even after I gave her the “what-the-f**k-you-looking-at” look and only walked away after Irwan carried Irfan and we took the escalator down. What? Have you not seen a kid cry and wail? Don’t you have kid(s)/grandkid(s)? And if you do, are they so f**king perfect that they don’t cry and wail and throw tantrums? I swear to god, the next person I see who’s going to stop and stare, I’m sooooo going to go up to them and ask what the f**k is their problem. Seriously! Some (if not most!) Malaysians are a bunch of morons!
Blardy hell!
Urrrgghhhh!!!!
As though it wasn’t bad enough that Irfan was screaming (his newfound habit!) half the time we were at Delicious, some people just had to give us the “don’t-you-know-how-to-handle-your-kid?” look! For god’s sake, he’s a child and he’s about to turn TWO soon. Unless the kid is a mute or something, then please don’t expect a toddler to keep quiet throughout dinner. If you cannot tolerate noisy kids, then I suggest that you either 1) have your dinner at home or 2) opt for fine dining instead or 3) stay in the blardy cave since you’re so ulu! The ladies next to our table were kind enough to joke about it to us and said that they didn’t mind him screaming at all because according to one of them, it’s only a phase and that some kids may take longer than others to move on to another phase. So, if some people can be understanding and accommodating, why can’t others? Geeeeeezzz! The restaurant is noisy for starters, so what’s the problem lah? Urrrrggghhh!
And the more we chide him, the more he’ll scream and the louder it becomes. I know it’s just a phase, but how long will this phase last? I’m going bonkers as it is! :P
Waaaaaaaaa… waaaaaaa… waaaaaaaa…
More waaaaaaaa’s…..
The Playground…
August 7th, 2007
We have been taking Irfan to the playground every weekend. Usually it’d be after breakfast, but last Sunday, we brought him both in the morning and in the evening. And he enjoyed those time immensely! :) So far, he’s been to 3 playgrounds near our home. But unfortunately, there wasn’t any kid(s) that he could play with. :(
Pose before going to the playground.
Let’s go Papa!

Irwan’s uncle passed away last night. Ayah Pa (as we all called him) had mouth cancer and the doctors did everything they could, but the cancer had spread to the eyes and brains, and there was nothing else that they could do. Ayah Pa leaves behind his wife and 4 young kids. Semoga Allah S.W.T mencucuri rahmat ke atas arwah dan semoga arwah ditempatkan bersama dengan orang-orang yang beriman. Amin.
2-in-1 Harness Buddy
August 6th, 2007
We used the 2-in-1 harness buddy (backpack leash) on Irfan for the first time last Saturday at IKEA and oh my gawd!!! ‘Em evil starers were just everywhere! And Irwan heard them said not-so-very nice things about me as well. Boo-hoo! Oh well, it was expectedlah. But I mean, if Irfan goes missing *touchwood*, will they be the ones who’ll be having sleepless nights? Hrmmm…
Anyway, after a while, Irwan decided that he had just about enough with the nasty comments/remarks, so he decided to take the leash off, but left the backpack on Irfan as he enjoyed wearing it. And oh my, he looks like a really big boy too!! Sob sob, where has my baby gone to???? Eeeeekkkk…
Read some blogs online and most mothers say the same thing too - that the backpack leash attracts a lot of questions and stares. But for the sake of his safety, I guess I’m just going to have to get used to them. Hehe.
Playing with some of the trains at the IKEA play area.
Nah, I give you, k? ;)
