He’s unwell…

October 31st, 2007

A-G-A-I-N! Bah!

The lil’ dude started coughing on Friday, but he was all fine and dandy and himself while we were away last weekend. Come Monday evening, my mom said that he’s had a bit of runny nose. Aisehman. But I still wasn’t very worried yet. After dinner however, he started purging. And it happened twice! Text-ed Irwan to get some 100 plus and gave him some. By the way, one should leave the gas out first before giving 100 plus to kids.

Anyway, yesterday, he purged about 9 times and so instead of going to SJMC after work (because they’ll only refer us to a GP), we decided to try Q’ddy Tots @ SS15, Subang Jaya, as per 1mum’s and a few of our friends’ recommendations. And true enough, the interior is nice, the nurses are very pleasant and cheerful and the doctor (a Dr. Wong) explains to us about every single thing without me having to ask this and that. So far, his only concern is the diarrhoea as he’s afraid that Irfan might be dehydrated. So he gave us ORS for the dehydration, paracetamol for his fever, some drops for his nose (in case it gets blocked) and some sort of special cream that he orders from UK for Irfan’s red buttock (forgot to ask for the name of the cream).

Irfan has lost his appetite and lost 400 grams too. Anything more than a weight loss of 1kg and I should be heading to SJMC and get him under observation because that means that he’s lost more water than necessary. And of course, if he purges more than 15 times a day, I need to do the same too. According to Dr. Wong, Irfan so far is at the borderline. His lips are dry, but his eyes look fine and his skin (after he pinched Irfan’s skin) seems to be okay too.

I woke up at around 4 a.m. this morning after hearing Irfan passing wind, which I’m sure was not just wind. And true enough, he let out some very, very loose stool as well. After cleaning him up, I gave him some paracetamol as his body was a bit warm and fed him some ORS. He vomitted a bit of phlegm and went to bed after that.

He’s a bit clingy now, but that’s just normal for sick kids. And he’s still his usual self, no whining and unnecessary crying or whatever, so I’m glad! I left him with my mom in-law this morning and he still insisted on waving goodbye to me although he could hardly wave properly. Awwwww.. it just broke my heart!

Get well soon, sayang!

Our weekend was spent…

October 29th, 2007

away from the hustle and the bustle of city life. :) It was therapeutic, I tell you!

We stayed here as Irwan had some convention thingie to attend there and the place is just superb! Timber flooring for the rooms, man. I’m such a sucker for timber floorings! LOL!

After breakfast on Saturday, I brought Irfan to the pool and he had a blast there! There were some other kids there too, so they were all playing among themselves in the kids’ pool, ’til I brought him to the adults’ pool for him to practice his kicks and learn to float with less air in his floaties. (Naomi’s a champion for that! - she even knows how to hold her breath underwater!)

The initial plan was to drive into Singapore, visit the zoo and come back out after dinner, but unfortunately the lil’ one was so knackered after his stint in the pool that he napped ’til about 2.30 p.m!!!! I had to order room service for lunch and it was the worst nasi goreng kampung I’ve ever had in my life! Bah!

When the lil’ one got up, mother in-law text-ed me asking us (Irfan and I) to join them at Tebrau City. And noone mentioned (and I took for granted as well) that the place is on the way to Kota Tinggi. So buta-buta from Senai (where we were at), I drove all the way to JB, filled up petrol (yang dah almost kering-kontang) and tawaf-ed the whole JB town only to be told later by Irwan’s cousin that the mall is on the way to Kota Tinggi. Aisehman.. and the traffic to get out of JB is just horrendous!!!!

What did I do? Call someone who’s expert about JB lah! Called her mom and was told by the other half to head on to Kota Tinggi and will find the place in no time. Wasted 50 minutes caught in traffic and but managed to find the place lah. The plan was to look for Irfan’s sandals, but I ended getting sandals and tops for myself pulak! Ish!!!

Again, when we left the mall to head back to the hotel, the traffic was crazy, but wasn’t half as bad as it was during the day. I think KL’s traffic pales in comparison to JB’s traffic.

And oh, I forgot to mention, we test drove a Subaru Impreza on Friday night. The adrenaline rush was just exhilarating! Now it’s down to a BMW 328i 325i (M) E36 or the 1997 Subaru Impreza WRX (dunno what version all) for the lil’ one’s dad. Whichever car he gets, I’m sure we’ll all have fun! Muahahahaha!

Yesterday was spent lazing around at the pool, which saw Irfan napping for another 3 hours again and when he woke up, it was just in time for us to join Irwan for lunch at the coffee house. I didn’t let the boy nap in the evening as I wanted him to sleep on our way back to Putrajaya and we ventured around the hotel and played in the room and watched Kungfu Hustle on tv. ;)

Left the hotel at about 6.45 p.m, stopped-over at the Ayer Keroh R&R for some A&W (maaannn, I sound like a bad parent for feeding my kid fast food all the time! :P) and reached home at about 11 p.m. like that.

And the next time we’re going, I’m definitely heading into Singapore!!!! ;)

Our room.

Cheeky boy.

Running around at the lobby area.

Sigh.. he’s all grown up now. Where did my baby go??? :(

Steven (Irwan’s cousin - if you still don’t know, my husband is half Malay-half Chinese) and Peline tied the knot on Saturday, 20th October 2007. I’ve never set foot in a Church in Malaysia, but have been to other Churches and Cathedrals around the world and I must say that they are quite different from each other. The ones abroad are more beautiful and have awesome architectural designs, especially those in Rome and the Vatican City. And before any of you starts wagging your fingers at me, no, I did not feel like I should renounce my religion and convert to Christianity. Okay, since that’s been established, let’s move on people! :P

So anyway, we left for Kuantan on Friday night and Irfan slept through 3/4 of the way and woke up when we arrived at the hotel and played for a bit with his grandma and Uncle Ike. After we have more or less settled our room and luggages, I let Irwan sleep while I tended Irfan since Irwan did the driving while I slept in the car. Irfan was quite restless, and he was tossing and turning the whole night, but we managed to get some decent sleep lah.

The lil’ dude woke me up pretty early in the morning and we played for a bit before I let him whack his Papa to wake him up pulak. Haha. After breakfast, we left for the Church, which was just nearby.

Irfan was pretty restless in the Church, so we all took turns to bring him out and let him sweat it outside. Unfortunately, the Church did not have any playground, unlike the Church that the khongfamily went to.

After the ceremony, we adjourned to a nearby restaurant to have lunch and while on the way there Irfan decided to have his nap and so we had a peaceful lunch. When we got back to the hotel, all three of us konked out and was awaken by mother in-law who said that everyone was waiting for us for the tea ceremony. Alamak! Agak kelam-kabutlah we ran to the bridal suite! And Irfan was still asleep. Hahahaha! Had to pass him to mom in-law, and after we were done (and received our angpows - because we’re younger so dapat angpow lah) Irfan was transferred back to Irwan’s arms and the lil’ dude still slept! ;) He woke up when everyone was about to leave and since he was up, mom in-law asked him to serve the tea to Uncle Steven and Aunt Peline. Quite a cute sight!

During dinner, he was so tired that haflway through, I brought him back to the room and gave him his milk and after 10 minutes, he was in dreamland already. We brought him back to the ballroom to finish up our dinner and the lil’ dude slept quietly in Irwan’s arms. After all the yam sengs and seeing some of my cousins in-law drunk, we went back to our room, rested for a bit and left Kuantan at 3 a.m because we didn’t want to get stuck in the bad jam. I took over from Karak onwards and when we got home around 7 a.m, I couldn’t sleep and decided to clean the whole house! Heh!

Steven & Peline listening to the Priest.

Getting restless in Church.

Jom ah!

Manja boy… ;)

*melts*

Gulp gulp gulp!

No more. Finish.

My two handsome boys.

Ala, fasterlaaaaaaaaa…

Irfan & I.

Where’s the bride? Where?

Just the two of us.. :)

Hardy Har Har…

October 19th, 2007

Soooooo, the lil’ dude has this weird newfound habit. He’d laugh berdekah-dekah whilst throwing his head back and does it often enough for everyone to know that he’s definitely faking it! But nevertheless, a very cute fakey laugh, if anyone can call it that. Hah!

Kids - can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em! :P

Hope you guys are having a good Raya/long holiday. Unfortunately, we don’t have a family Raya photo taken because it was just mad mad mad on the first and second day of Raya. Tak sempat to take ‘em photos of the food that my mom made either. Next year, k? :P

Hahahahahaha!

Definitely faking it!

Still going on and on and on… sheeeessshh!

Getting upset after laughing so much! Eh?

Nice people still exist… :)

October 18th, 2007

Was at the immigration office this morning to renew my passport. Had no choice but to bring the lil’ dude with me. He behaved rather well the first 5 minutes, and then started to get restless and wanted to walk around. I let him walk nearby, but whenever he gets too far, I’ll pull him back to the line and he gets upset when I do that.

There were 3 kiosks there, but one was faulty and many people did not know how to use the other 2 kiosks, so the line didn’t move for quite a while. The immigration people were rather helpful though, they helped the old folks and when the third kiosk was functional, one immigration lady let me use it first since she noticed how cranky Irfan was. She did everything for me and all I needed to do was to get my thumbprints read and pass her the RM 300. I didn’t get her name, but I did thank her.

Another lady worth mentioning is the Chinese lady behind me. She helped to distract Irfan while we were stuck queuing outside. She took her camera out and started to record videos of him and played him the videos after that. That kept him quiet for a while. Heh. Again, I didn’t get her name, but I thanked her profusely on my way out. Phew, lega dah. Now, just have to pick it up tomorrow. Hopefully, no queue and hassle free! ;)

As for our Raya, it was great and all of us ate like there was no tomorrow! The lemang, the ketupat daun palas, nasi tomato, roti jala… ooohhhhlalalalala! Tonight, will be at aunt’s place for open house… yay!!!!!

p/s: I’ve already switched off the plug-in, so you guys need not register or put in your username or things like that anymore. I was paranoidlah, hence the need to check who my readers are. But then again, like what Shannon said, those who do not want to be known, will not register. Sigh. And I know a lot of you read from the blog feeds, so to tak menyusahkan you all, I switch off the plug-in lah, otay? ;)

Selamat Hari Raya!

*Cheeeseeeeeeeeee*

:)

The love of our lives… ;)

Lepas kena marah… :P

There, there!

Baju given by Aunt Yannie.

Testing the M5.

Pa, we get this, k?

Sigh. I’ve got swollen-bleeding looking lips and the lil’ one has got a benjol on his forehead and a cut on his lips after he ran and fell this morning.

:(

Things aren’t looking so great for Raya.

Bah!

What happened to me was this: He likes to sleep on either Irwan or I, and likes it when we hug him real tight. So last night, Irwan wasn’t around. Yours truly hugged the lil’ one. Then he wanted to play for a bit. I let him. Next thing I knew, he headbutted my lips and I screamed in agony. What made it more painful is that I’ve got braces on - for my lower teeth, hence the lower lip looks more cacat than the upper one lah. Blood was just oozing like water from the tap. I couldn’t stop the bleeding. It was so painful that I cried. But he thought that it was funny. So, he was just giggling and laughing. I ignored him. Yes, I agree, that was cruel, but seriously, I was deathly afraid to go near him! I had my back facing him while we slept on the bed. That was how scared I was!

This morning, he was running around my parents’ house with the feather duster (he likes to ‘clean’ with it) and I was carrying his bags and stuff. He somehow tripped and fell. Usually, he’d just get up and resume whatever it was that he was doing before he fell. But not this time. He cried. And his cries were a bit weird. When I went to look, his lips were bleeding. Aiseh! Semalam mok, hari ni anok pulok? Guano nih?

And before any of you starts to kecek with me, no, I’m not Kelantanese. So apart of knowing some words here and there, that’s about it.

I’m digressing. Pffftttt!

Anyway, back to Irfan. I didn’t notice the bump on his head ’til I was about to give him his breakfast. It’s as big as a fifty sen coin. And I hope that it’ll subside soon!!! *shakes head in disbelief*

Okaylah, since I’ll be on leave starting tomorrow and don’t think I’ll have the time to write another post, I’d like to wish all my Muslim friends & readers: Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin. And to all my non-Muslim friends and readers: happy holidays! Drive safe y’all!!!

At Delicious, after his hair cut. He was anxious and hungry. It was just him and me for Iftar.

I have been procrastinating to no end in doing up Irfan’s room and making our living area livelier. But not that I can put anything much at the living area (or around the house for that matter!) since this lil’ boy of ours have very quick hands! (Both Mr & Mrs. Khong can vouch to that.. hehe!) I still have not placed the shelf we bought from IKEA (yes, yes, everything is from IKEA.. :P) in Irfan’s room yet because we didn’t want to drill the wall and awaken the sleeping giant. Heh.

And we still have some photo frames not hung yet on the wall downstairs because of the abovesaid reason as well.

And I still haven’t started on doing a pinboard collage for him although I’ve bought the paper supplies from here months ago! And Raya is on Saturday… eeeeekkk!

Okay, I shall include all those as top priorities before the year ends. Hahaha!

And and.. I need to clear the utility room too. But each time it’s cleared, Irwan dumps more of his stuff in the room. *slaps forehead* So how? I was thinking of converting it to a playroom for Irfan, but we’ll see lah. Still unsure about all these plans yet. Hrmmmm…

Oh yeah, I bought Irfan more goodies yesterday (much to his Papa’s annoyance…haha!), but I had vouchers for them. So pffffftttt! Bought him LeapFrog’s ABC Learning Drum since he likes to whack everything under the sun, and I’m hoping that he’ll learn something after whacking the drum instead of breaking things or hurting people. Hehe. And another one is this shoes, only thing different is that the swoosh is green and the base is red. Heh. Funky, ey? ;)

So here are some pics of Irfan’s room and the living area. :)

The red-green-blue compartment thingie is new. I stash his pampers there now.

The framed photos are new as well. Had to go to IKEA for a few times to get them as they always run out of stock!

I dump all his toys in the chest box. And the truck on top of it is from Shern. :)

Different angle.

Rug, curtain and framed photos are of the same theme.

Irfan’s “chill” area.

Temporarily placed on his wardrobe while waiting for the shelf to be ready. :P

I just love white and beige. :)

There was a big candle on top of the table runner, but Irfan had it smashed to pieces. :(

Irfan’s photo taken and printed by Aaron.

Some of the decorative items are from Bangkok.

Happy 18 months!

October 3rd, 2007

Sooooo.. the dude is already 1 1/2 years old. 6 more months to plan for his second birthday. Eeeeeekkk! Any ideas, people? Heh!

Anyway, here are his updates:

Height: <> 80 cm.

Weight: 12.5 kg.

Milk intake: Still the same, 8 oz. each feed, 4 feeds per day.

Food: He eats anything and everything under the sky. Minus batu, kayu, pasir dan yang sewaktu dengannya AND he hates cold drinks! If I get the Happy Meal at McD or something, he won’t drink the Ribena/Milo ’til it’s warm. Like that also can?? But goodlah.. heh!

Words that he can say: Papa, Mama, thee-thak, jijik, ewwww, chak, key, chip-chip (for birds) and kah (car). It’s quite limited I should say, compared to some other tots his age. Should I be worried? I know I shouldn’t, but people just like to compare him to their daughter/son/niece/nephew/cucu/etc etc. Bah!

He understands a lot of things. And he knows when I show him my index finger, it means that I’m either cross at him or that he isn’t supposed to continue whatever it is he was doing, because simply, he’s not supposed to do it lah. Irwan has started to be more strict with Irfan too, so at least now, Irfan knows that he can’t be that manipulative anymore! :P

And oh, before I forget, made some soto ayam ala Indonesian style yesterday for buka puasa and I suggest you people try it out. Just go a bit slow on the spices, yeah? The only thing different was that I subsitute the chicken eggs with quail eggs since we had plenty of them! Enjoy…!

Soto ayam. Picture courtesy of Rasa Malaysia. Didn’t have time to take own picturelah, it was 7.40 p.m. by the time I was done cooking!

Heya peeps!

All ready for Aunty Nad’s birthday dinner/buka puasa.

Don’t take the balloon ahhh…!
