Irfan’s BMW 320 CSI… :)

November 28th, 2007

As I’ve mentioned earlier, during our gila-toys-shopping-session, I bought the lil’ one (and his Papa) a remote control BMW 320 CSI. So, last weekend, we decided to bring Irfan to the park/playground to test the RC car as well as letting him play ball. Unfortunately, it was scorching hot, so we had to make do with testing the RC car at one of the mamak restaurants in Cyberjaya. Jadilaaaaa…

Initially, he was deathly afraid of the car (as can be viewed in the video), just like how he was scared of his battery operated bunny, but soon after, he enjoyed it and instead of using the remote, he wanted to push the car with his hand pulak. Alamak!

Shern, after this we shall battle it out with your Subaru, ok? ;)

Waiting for Papa to get everything ready.

Muah! I lup (love) you!

Walking around with Papa’s car keys.

Where’s the cat? “No more!….”

Sampai tertonggeng carik cat! Haha!

Last weekend was a hectic one. On Friday, Irwan went to collect the keys for our newly-built condo here and yesterday saw us trying to sort the kitchen cabinet out at where else but IKEA? Heh! But that’s another story for another day.

After we bid mom in-law goodbye on Saturday afternoon, we went over to Wan Mikhail’s birthday party! Here, I’d like to say that Internet/blogs/flickr/facebook are such good ways to keep in touch with long lost friends and such. See, Mikhail’s maternal grandparents and my in-laws are good friends since many moons ago. I never knew Mikhail’s mom. Oklah, except that one time that we bumped into each other in Ampang and was introduced by Irwan, but that doesn’t countlah.

So anyway, fast forward to a few months ago and I got a message from a ‘maverix’ telling me that she knows my husband. Alamak! Jealous a bitlah sekejap… not! :P I can’t remember how exactly I found out her name, but when I mentioned it to Irwan, he said, “That’s the one we met in Ampang when you were pregnant with Irfan. You know, her mom is the aunty that calls me ’smiley’ masa kecik-kecik dulu.” Ohhhhhhh, that family. Yes, I know. (So now you know why Irfan smiles most of the time.. ;)) The rest they said, is history. :)

Mikhail and family, thanks for having us. We all had such a good time there. The food was really really really good! Yummy!!! Irfan finished half a packet of nasi lemak and had god-knows-how-many chicken franks and curry puffs. But peliklah, he’s eating a lot, but he ain’t putting on that much of a weight. Why ah?? Hrmmmm….

Gobbling up good food.

Posing for the camera.

Kids in the big pool.

The pool area.

Splashing fun!

Another cheeky pose.

‘Em cuppies.

More of ‘em cuppies.

The birthday cake! :)

Mama’s lil’ helper… :)

November 22nd, 2007

Yup, he’s my lil’ helper, alright. He has started to help me with the laundries a few months ago, but as always, I keep forgetting to write about it or take any photoslah. First up, he’d press the on/off button (he likes to press ANY button) for the washing machine and while I load the machine up, he’d walk over to the cabinet and grab the detergent and softener. When I’m done, he’d put those things back at the exact same place where he took them and even line them up like how they were before. Ok, confirmlah, he’s got my OCD habit! :P

He also MUST throw his own diaper! If I don’t let him - like when he poos - he’d throw tantrumslah, but kejap je. After a while, he’s okay already. :)

Lately, he’s been imitating me folding clothes. He’d sit by my side and take his bajus and what-have-yous and lipatlah. Of course, they’re so merepek and merapu looking, but at least I have company? Haha! He’d also scurry around looking for available hangers if I need to use any. I *heart* my lil’ man! ;)

Of late, he knows that he has to bring down 3 keys - house keys, Irwan’s car keys and my car keys - in the mornings. He knows which remote is for which car and would pass ‘em respective keys to Irwan. He can’t reach the door handle yet, unlike Jayden, so he still needs either one of us to carry him up so. He will then try to insert the correct key and try to turn the locklah. Most often that not, he fails to do so, but I’m just happy he knows which key to use for what! ;)

Oh, before I forget, his latest words are bubur, susu and nenek, or more like nye-nyek - very the pelat my son ni. :P

Geram mode.

Wearing his Papa’s socks and shoes. *slaps forehead*

Just the two of us…

November 19th, 2007

The two of us had each other’s company last weekend as Irwan had to go to Johor for yet another round of endless training. Hrmmphhh! Pity the lil’ one - he was searching high and low for his Papa and opened each and every door in the house and called out “Pa? Papa?” So kesian… :(

Anyway, after all that drama, we got ourselves ready and went to SJMC for his last pneumococcal jab and his 1st DTP & Polio booster. The queue was just crazy and we were told to come back after 3 hours (or so) and so we proceeded to the cafeteria downstairs to have our brunch. Irfan had half of my nasi and rendang ayam with some tofu soup and some jello thingiemajigie.

I’ve been searching high and low for a nice tricycle with pedals and handle bar at the back for him, like what Naomi has, so we went to check out Parkson and Toys “R” Us at Subang Parade. They didn’t have what I wanted. It was either with pedals but no handle bar, or with handle bar but no pedals. And the price.. ridiculously insane! Irfan slept while we were in Toys “R” Us, so I did a bit of shopping for myself at Dorothy Perkins and when I was done, he got up and it was just in time for us to head back to SJMC.

We went in after 10 minutes of waiting, chatted a bit with his paed and while I was holding/hugging him, she gave him the least painful jab (DTP&P) and only cried for about 10 seconds or so when she gave him the pneumococcal jab. After that, he proceeded to play with the Lego’s there. Gooooodddd boy…

I was still tak puas hati and wanted to look for the damn tricycle. So, we headed to Pavilion KL and he had fun playing with all the toys at the toys section but I still didn’t find what I wanted! In the end, I bought him some puzzles and a birthday gift for someone’s kiddo.

Went round and round Pavilion and the lil’ one slept again and I managed to get something for myself (again!) and for Irwan too. Heh heh. Confirm pokai already. After spending about 3 and a half hours at that huuuugeeeee mall, we left and went to in-laws’ place to collect some banana muffins Irwan had ordered.

Went back to our own home at about 9.30 p.m. or so and called it a night. :)

Yesterday, we just lazed around at home in the morning and afternoon and after the both of us woke up from our naps, we got ready and went to Alamanda for lunch. After lunch, went to Toy City and Parkson to look for the tricycle, and still, didn’t find any. Called mom in-law and she said the were on the way to 1U. Off we wentlaaaaaa… hahaha!

Went to Jusco and found the My Dear tricycle selling for RM 159.90. Eeeeekkk.. so rickety and plasticky and yet so expensive? Might as well I’ve gotten the one from Tesco! Hish! Since Toys “R” Us is just opposite, I went in there hoping for some miracle to happen lah! And it did! Found what I had in mind but after weighing the pros and cons (more like cons), I didn’t think it was wise enough to spend RM 249.90 for something that will last him ’til he’s about 3. Saw an alternative, which is this model, and that would last him ’til he’s about 6 or so, but what makes you and I think that he won’t ask for a proper bicycle (with 4 wheels and all) when he’s a bit older? So basically, I scrapped the whole tricycle idea! He already has this and this, so cukuplah. ;) In the end, I got him some wooden blocks and his grandma got him some flashcards and some trucks.

Since he didn’t have his afternoon nap yet, he was all cranky and made a big fuss with everyone. I decided to go to the car to make his milk and changed his diapers at the baby changing area. After he finished his milk, I pushed him around but I guess since it was a tad noisy, he couldn’t really fall asleep. Went to the baby’s changing room in Parkson and lulled him to sleep and after 5 minutes, he was in dreamland! :)

Got out of Parkson and what did I see? Chicco and Little Tikes having a BIG sale. Caught up with mom in-law and sis in-law and we checked out the craziness and ended buying more things for the lil’ one. He’s sooooo spoilt! Hrmmmpphhhh! But seriously, the prices was just crazy. The construction truck I got was priced at RM 150+ initially, but they brought it down to RM 60+, so can you just imagine their margin????? Foowah! Anyway, mom in-law got him a dump truck and a remote control Chicco car. Tsk tsk tsk, banyak sunggoh his toys!!!!

We had dinner at Chilli’s and he slept throughout dinner as well. And when it was time to leave, he got up and I called Irwan to check on his status and the lil’ dude got all excited hearing his Papa’s voice. When Irwan arrived home around 10-ish, Irfan was already asleep, but the moment he heard the room door opened, his eyes just popped open and was soooo glad to see Irwan home. Heh. Daddy’s boy betul! Pffffttttt…

So yeah, that was how our weekend was spent, without the daddy-o. I’m officially broke and don’t think I’ll be doing any shopping while we’re in Singapore next month. Bah!

Pressing all the buttons he can find. He was asking me to get everything there! *pengsan*

Hello? Papa? Bila nak balik ni?

Having a go on the Thomas’ thingie. What’s it called ah?

The loot. You’d think Santa Claus went down our non-existent chimney or something. Heh!

%$&@!!^%& Friday! :P

November 16th, 2007

As always, the traffic in the mornings is just awful! While being stuck on Jalan Tun Razak (before the Jalan Istana turn-off), there was this bike zig-zagging left and right. I hate bikers! Seriously, most often than not, they’re just weaving in and out of traffic without a care in the world and end up scratching/banging someone’s car and today, the unfortunate someone is me! Urrrggghhhh!

It was bad enough that he slammed my behind, but what made it worse was that he didn’t even apologize for it. Not a hand gesture, head gesture, nada! WTF, right? I couldn’t give chase because the traffic was just badlah, and stupid people who wants to go straight to Jalan Tun Razak kept staying on the lane that’s supposed to go to Jalan Istana and made the jam even worse! Bah!

How bad is the car? Quite bad. Deep scratches and some dents. Stupid idiot! If I see a WNU 104 on the road again, I’m so going to lenyek the fler!

Buuuutttt, since it’s Friday, I don’t want to stay mad for long. The lil’ dude made me happy again. :)

His lips are really pink/red! Haha!

When he was about 7 months old. :)

What Adobe Lightroom…

November 14th, 2007

does to my photos. :)

Ok, so now, the multi-million dollar question is, shall I get the 400D or the G9? Or just stick with my Ixus?

If I were to get the DSLR or the PowerShot, what are the chances of me using it like Aaron or Moby or Jazzmint or Shannon or dooce (you should check out her awesome photos and her writing - they’re superb!) does? Hrmmm.. something to ponder. ;)

A BIG heartfelt…

November 12th, 2007

thank you to those who attended our open house last Saturday. :) It was great catching up with everyone and we shall do this again some other time! Any volunteers for Christmas and/or CNY? Hahahaha!

As per our invite, the open house was scheduled to start at 3.30 p.m. and ‘em caterers were supposed to arrive at 2. But instead, while I was in Klang (picked up my grandma), they called me and told me that they were already there. And it was only 1 p.m. and the blardy roads were all jammed up due to the unnecessary roadblocks! Hrmmpphhh…

So anyway, reached home close to 2 p.m. and let the caterers do their job while i tidied the house a lil’ bit and even before I could have my shower, some of our friends called to say that they were already nearby. Eeeeeeekkkk… had the shortest shower ever and I apologize if I stank on that day. LOL!

The sky looked a bit gloomy, but thank god He heard my prayers and the rain didn’t come pouring down ’til later at night. Phew! Otherwise I’d have to sumbat everyone into our small house.

The kids had fun. The moms had fun. The dads I think had fun too? Haha. They even went to the playground nearby and took some photos on their DSLRs (oi, don’t eksyen ah.. later-later I get one, then we can snap pics together-gether, k? :P).

To our friends (Gary & family, Uban & Ayu, Faisal [I wanna test the Golf GTI lah!!! ] & Nadia, Mike, Ken & wifey, Zeti & friend and Iwan & Shaliza) and blogger friends, thanks so much for coming, yeah??!!!

Dinah & family: One of the first to arrive before time. Which is great, because at least I had time to entertain you guys before the throng of guests arrived. Only sad part is that we didn’t get to witness Ashley’s singing and dancing since she only warmed up just as you guys were leaving - after almost 4 hours at our place! Thanks for the tee for Irfan! ;)

Shannon & family: I really love the gift you got us. Shouldn’t have susah-susah lah. Anyways, am really sorry that we didn’t get to chat and lepak for long. BUT, I do know that you have taken a pic or a few pics of Irfan and Rachel together, sooooo… bak mai sini! :P

Sasha & family: You really want my son to be the next Tiger Woods, ey? Did you get J one too? If yes, then they can go practice their swings together-gether lah. Heh. I hope HL is feeling better now. Thanks for the lovely gift for Irfan, yeah? I told you should’ve just bought soft drinks? Apalaaaa.. hehehe!

Mrika & family: I’m sorry that I didn’t get the chance to sit with you guys and chat properly. And you guys should’ve gone in to eat lah, then you can give me more artistic ideas on how to artsy-fartsy kan my house. ;) Thanks for coming, yeah? And by the way, you don’t look big at all! Hrmmmppphhhh… apa-apa ajelah???

Khongfamily: My brains literally froze with ‘em tubs and tubs of awesome ice-cream yesterday! My fave? Macadamia! ;) Thanks so much for coming and bringing us those awesome tasting ice-creams. Sorry we didn’t get to properly entertain you guys. I hope Irfan did on our behalf?

Leena & family: Glad that you guys could make it. Sorry that there wasn’t much food left. I felt and still feel so bad. Shern is such a good boy and he speaks well too, for his age. And oh, you’ve got one heckuva stylo son! ;)

To those that couldn’t make it, we hope to see you guys some other time. Muna - I hope Adam is better now and that he had fun yesterday and Hawra - please tell your mommy that tea is on her next time! :P

Let’s play ball!!

Urrrggghhh.. beratnya!!!

Hi Mama!

My Siamese twin boys… :P

November 9th, 2007

As all of you know, the lil’ dude is Irwan’s favourite boy and vice versa. So, yesterday, we went to change my front tyres allllll the way in Klang (because it’s cheaper and I save about RM 200 per tyre) and while waiting for the car to be ready (which took quite a while since there were just oh-so-many cars there - given it’s a public holiday and all) the lil’ dude just wouldn’t want to let his Papa go. Irwan had to carry him, piggy-back him, talk to him, sing to him, feed him water and etc etc. Aaaand what did I do? Well, aside from getting a wee bit upset that my son favours his dad more than his mom, I was just busy snapping pictures and making sure that the dude who was changing my tyres was doing a good job.

Our stomachs were growling by the time my car was done at about 1.30 p.m. and instead of going to Port Klang for some good seafood (the initial plan), we headed off to USJ instead and tried this new place in Taipan called Restoran Simon’s. I was craving for seafoodlah, so this was the next best thing. And at the entrance, there was a sign that said “Sorry, no pork.” Eerrrr, okay! ;)

We ordered lala with ginger and spring onion, kum heong prawns, claypot beancurd with vege and fried tang hoon. And we shall be heading back to that place whenever we’re in USJ! Hehe. Irfan was eating non-stop and right after lunch, he did his big business. Alamak! And there was nowhere to go to change and it was pouring garfields and odies outside. Pfffttt!

We somehow managed to clean him in the car, while having to do some acrobatic moves and all that and proceeded to Giant USJ to get some groceries. Lil’ dude refused to sleep on our way home and after we visited a neighbour’s open house, he slept from 5.30 p.m. yesterday all the way to 6.00 a.m. this morning! He was sleeping like a log last night when I changed his pampers and put on his PJ’s for him. Heh. Kepenatanlah tu!

What did the parents do? Cleaned the house, hung some pictures and managed to watch 2 episodes of Prison Break Season 3 while having Maggi for dinner. ;)

I *heart* them.. :)

He’s such a heartbreaker. Can’t stay angry with him for long. Hrmmpphhh!

Hehehe..

Saaaaaayang Papa! :P

Happy 19 months!

November 5th, 2007

The lil’ dude turned 19 months last Saturday. He’s better now - thanks for all the well wishes. :) But his cough and flu won’t go away just yet and I’ve been sneezing the whole morning already. Eeeeeekkk!

Here are his updates:

Height: <> 82 cm.

Weight: 11.7 kg. (He lost about 800 grams during the last week because of the diarrhoea episode)

Milk intake: Still the same, 8 oz. each feed, 4 feeds per day.

Food: Anything and everything, but I try not to give him too much greasy food. Still doesn’t like cold drinks.

Words that he can say: Papa, Mama, thee-thak, jijik, ewwww, chak, key, chip-chip (for birds), kah (car), ish (fish), eees (please) and ta (tata).

I’m thinking of sending him to a playschool come January, and have been looking around lah. Will make a few appointments to see ‘em schools and hopefully, he’ll enjoy his stint there. :)

Yesterday, we went to celebrate this young man’s second birthday at Bijou and Irfan had a fun time there. Thanks to the hosts, we went home with full stomachs because there was just so much food! And they’re so delicious too!!! And the cake.. oh-my-goodness! It’s just so lawa that I didn’t have the heart to eat, but once I tasted it, I craved for more. But unfortunately, Irfan was already tired and wanted to go home. Pfffftttt..! Thanks for having us, guys! :)

Irfan and his party pack.

The lawa and delicious cake.

Pretty cupcakes.

New way of “sliding”.. haha!
