We are…
May 30th, 2008
- still surviving
- still sane (he drives me nuts everyday!!! :P)
- still getting lack of sleep (me actually.. he naps like 5-6 hours a day!)
- almost done with all the downloaded TV series (and about to start on new sets of TV series)
- trying to catch up with work (I am. He, on the other hand, just likes to look at all the cars in the showroom and run around and drive me nuts and wants to speak to everyone that calls me… ARGH!)
- working out something between us since he’s more vocal these days about his wants and needs. Things have to go his way.. bribery is not accepted. I don’t know whether to be sad or happy. Haha!
- getting fatter! (I eat nonstop when I’m at home. What is it with being at home and stuffing one’s own self silly? Ish!)
- having a blast with each other on top of all that screaming matches. Good bonding time I must say. ;)

Big Three-Oh!
May 23rd, 2008
The hoosband will be celebrating his 30th birthday this coming Sunday. He’s currently in Vietnam for a short trip and will only be back on Monday. Hence, we will not be celebrating his birthday with him. Bleh! B, happy thirtieth birthday, okay? Irfan’s (and his mommy too… :)) missing you already, so hurry back! Hahahaha…
Nothing big has been planned for his birthday. I guess we will be taking a much needed break (for me at least!) in a few months’ time. Heh. Anyway, we had his birthday dinner with his parents last week and he was asked to stand on the chair to sing, but he ended up giving a speech instead. Apalah… haha! I still suck at indoor photography (not that I’m such a pro at outdoor.. but you get what I mean) so not many photos were taken. Irfan was happily clapping his hand when everyone sang the birthday song and wanted to blow the candle instead - which we let himlah.
On another note, I’ll be working from home for the next 2 weeks or so as my parents will be away in Europe with my brothers (I so dontch like them! :P) and I foresee myself lacking in updates and blog hopping. So pardon me (singing to Incubus’ tune) while I catch up, yeah? Aaaaaaanyway, have a good weekend y’all!

A trip to Genting! :)
May 20th, 2008
Over the last weekend, we brought Irfan up to Genting Highlands to spend some fun time together and apart from exhaustion, I think everyone did have fun - Irfan the most! :)
Initially we wanted to leave very early in the morning but since noone was able to wake up early (yours truly included), we left at around 9.30 a.m. We didn’t want to leave too late as it was a long weekend and we thought that Genting would be jam packed - and we were right!
Managed to find parking almost immediately and off we went to get our tickets. The queue was just crazy but since we’ve already bought ours online, we just needed to queue in and get the wristbands. Easy peasy. And oh, admission is free for Irfan since he’s just slightly below 90cm. (Kids who are above 90cm need to pay for tickets).
First thing we did upon arrival was to go on the merry-go-round with Irfan. And then went to have brunch as we were all starvinglah. Afterwards, he went on some car ride thingie and then he saw ‘em bumper cars. And he insisted on having a go. Off we went queuing and when it was his turn, Irwan put him in one of ‘em BMW ala F1 cars and belted him. 5 minutes later, the lady in charge had to stop the ride as Irfan was screaming his lungs out because his car got bumped. Errrr.. it is called a bumper car! Haha! So, we took him out of the car and had to pacify him with a bottle of milk. Apalah. Tak macho! :P
After going on god-knows-how-many rides, I could see that Irfan was getting cranky as it was way past his nap time. We went back to the car to get his stroller and not long after, he conked out. Haha. We then took this opportunity to explore the area as Genting has changed tremendously and when we got tired, we had our tea at a nearby cafe. As always with all these places, food was crap and price was ridiculously high! Ho well…
When Irfan got up after about 2 1/2 hours of napping, we went on more rides and the weather started to get even more chilly. Irfan’s favourite rides were the flying planes and flying elephants. Basically, anything that could flylah. Haha. There was also a mini playground and Irfan wanted to go on the “shake shake” and the swing. Then it was back to the planes and the elephants. And he’d choose which colour he’d want to sit on. Tsk.
Around 6-ish, the queues to certain rides were getting shorter. I guess because it was getting colder so people wanted to spend time indoor rather than outdoor. We took this opportunity to take turns and go on the adult rides. The parents had fun too, which is good. :)
But the not so good part was getting up the next morning with a terrible back pain. Aiseh, what a turnoff! Whatever it is, I’m glad that we managed to make the trip a fun one for Irfan and the pictures say it all. ;)

The three of us survived a trip to the cinema!
May 13th, 2008
We have been planning for quite sometime about a trip to the cinema but have always chickened out at the last minute. This time I thought that we’d let Irfan sleep first and bring him to the movies while he’s asleep - so we caught the midnight show. Iron Man was awesome and I would never have thought that I’d say this, but Robert Downey Jr. is hot! Haha!
Aaaanyway, I let Irfan run around the whole day to tire himself out and the only time he stopped for a breather was when he had his 3 1/2 hours nap. We then went looking around at houses and cars and went back to our part of the world to have dinner and collect the movie tickets. Managed to get Irfan to sleep around 10-ish and he was still asleep when we left the house quarter to midnight and he only got up 45 minutes before the movie ended. He made some fuss but sat on Irwan and watched the show. :) We all got home close to 3 a.m. and I’ve never stayed up that late anymore so it felt a bit weird and suffice to say, we all woke up late later on! Hahahaha…
We then decided that this midnight movie thing would be a monthly affair. ;)

I’m such a gundu & nyanyuk old lady…
May 8th, 2008
that I forgot to write an update for his 25th month! Oh dear. I think the fact that it was on a Saturday and that I’ve been having a crazy-a** week didn’t help things either. Oh well. What to do? Sudah tua laaaa… :P
As for his updates, they’re mostly the same stuff - crazy over cars, Elmo, Barney and the likes. He loves to godek-godek ‘em cars too ala mechanic like that but still doesn’t know how to put most of the things back. In the end, the father and mother have to be his mechanic! Tsk. Itu maciam pun boleh?
He’s still taking 8oz. of milk each feed and has 4 feeds in a day. He’s still on porridge as well, but doesn’t reject rice or noodles or whatever. BUT, he needs to at least finish 3/4 of his porridge before he’s allowed to indulge in adults’ food. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t (read: when I’m tired!). Hahaha! We’re only humans.. :P
Weight-wise, I think he’s around 14.2kg or something like that. On days that he eats macam orang Somalia kebuluran, he’d be bulat like a belon. However, on days that dia tido aje kerja dia, I think he doesn’t look so bulat, but as long as he’s healthy and active and all that, I’m just going to layankan his sleeping and eating patterns. :)
The past few weeks have seen us looking and scouting around for schools in the Bangsar neighbourhood but to pay at least RM 500 a month for a 2 year old’s half-day playschool is simply ridiculous! I know one school that charges RM 1,800 per month and that’s just eeeeekkkkkkk! Of courselah the school is nice and all that jazz, but really, I can’t justify paying RM 1,800 per month for him. But then again, that’s probably because I don’t have that much of a spare change. Haha!
As of today, we still haven’t decided on any schools yet, but he’s already able to count and recognize the numbers from 1-10 and singing ABC (with Elmo and the Sesame Bus) and recognizing all the other alphabets with the help of his family members (read: Irwan most of the time), so maybe we’d postpone his schooling for a bit. He’s only 2 afterall… ;)

Irfan did a Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde!
May 5th, 2008
On Labour Day, Irwan was at the track for the BMW Driver Training and so it was just the two of us again babysitting each other. Haha. Irfan was really well-behaved and even sat nicely on his highchair (for about 2 hours or so) while I vacuumed, mopped and cleaned the house. I wanted to take some shots of him playing with his cars and all that, but the malas part got the better of me. Heh!
Anyway, I was only done with the chores at about noon and Irfan was already cranky by this time and no amount of “hang on give Mama 5 more minutes” would work on him. I finished up what was left of whatever it is I was doing and brought him upstairs for his much needed nap. He went to lala-land faster than what a Ferrari would clock during a 0-100km/h test. :P
The plan for the day was to meet Aaron and his family, Danny and Kathey and have some shots taken (because I don’t normally have shots of myself taken with Irfan) and have dinner later on with Irwan joining us too. Aaron woke me up around 3p.m with his sms and I hurriedly got ready and woke Irfan up and then bought lunch for Irfan to eat in the car while I drivelah. No complaints whatsoever from him and even when we got to Emily’s parents’ house, he was still well-behaved; drinking his milk, sitting nicely and not making a sound!
Everyone was rather impressed and complimented his good behaviour. Aiseh, they haven’t seen the worst! :P Aaaanyyyway, when the sun was not too strong, all of us went to the nearest playground and had some fun. Aaron’s pictures can be seen here and I’m sooooo loving ‘em - as always! :P
When the kids were all drenched, we headed back to Emily’s parents’ place and Irfan even let me mandikan him there and shared his car with Naomi while playing with Naomi’s Elmo! That rarely happens - him sharing his toys with anyone!
After everyone got ready, we adjourned to King Crab for some seriously delicious crabs and Irfan was still behaving rather well. He didn’t fuss one bit about anything at all. BUT the moment he saw Irwan at the door, he did a 180-degree turn on his good behaviour and wanted to climb down from the highchair for Irwan to carry him. *slaps forehead* Throughout dinner time, he refused to listen to us (Irwan and I), but fortunately, he ate a whole plate of fried rice and 2 pieces of crabs - so I just couldn’t stay mad at him for long! Heh. Irwan and I had to take turns to eat because Irfan just wouldn’t want to sit still on his highchair because he wanted to be carried around, wanted to lie down on the icky gooey floor (to play with his car), wanted to kick his shoes everywhere and entah apa-apa lagilah. I was about to go nuts but thankfully, it was still bearable. Phew! So in other words, he’d behave very well when it’s just me and him but it’s not quite the same when his favourite parent is around. Haha. And we’ve tested that a gazillion times and still get the same conclusion. LOL! I’ve got one helluva manipulative kid here! :P

Setting up of a company
May 4th, 2008
The night before, Irwan and I met up with a friend, Mike, who just got back from the States and wants to set up his own business dealing in auto parts. He wanted to know which banks that are easy to deal with when it comes to loans. Irwan then asked him whether he was interested in personal loans or otherwise. Mike said that he wasn’t too sure and that he wanted to check out what sort of assistance that are available.
I then told Mike that since he’s been away in the States for the past 10 years or so, he might want to run a free credit report on himself incase someone has been thieving on his identity. It’s better to be safe than sorry, innit? Since we were at Starbucks (free wifi) and Irwan had his laptop, we quickly checked for the addresses of the government offices for him to pay a visit to for him to get more relevant informations on.
I’m so glad that Irfan behaved pret-ty well that night, or else, we wouldn’t have been able to discuss anything! Haha!
