He’s not afraid anymore..!
February 26th, 2009
When we first started sending him to school, I’d put on his undies for him in the mornings because we’d want him to continue training while in school. But, since he was having too much pressure on the first few weeks of school, his principal said that maybe we should let him “chill” first and continue the training later on. The past 2 weeks or so, I’ve started putting on his undies for him again and the first few days he’d cry like mad because he’s afraid of the toilets in school. And I’m just too stumped about it because he goes to the toilets at my parents’, inlaws’, once at klcc (and I paid for the RM2 toilet! haha!) and a few times at a few hotels and he never had any problems. I even accompanied him to the toilets in school and he was just crying on and on and on. Sigh. So in the end, either one of these two will happen: 1) the teacher would put on the diaper when it’s about 10am or so because we don’t want him to hold his pee for too long or 2) he’d wet himself. :(
BUT, for the past three days or so, he’s been incident-free so yaaaaayyy! :) Now we have to go get the car we’ve promised him. Haha.
He’s doing very well in school - albeit being mischievious at times, but I think that’s just normal. He loves arts and crafts, loves numbers (double yaaaayyy!) so much so that he’s been placed in the “next level” class because he knows too much and is bored with the class. Ish! But why is it each time I ask him “What did you do in school today?”, he’d answer me with a “Nothing much” or “I waited for Nenek“? It’s like he doesn’t want to share his days with me and I find that a bit sadlah. But when I don’t ask him, or when I’m busy doing something else, he’d start his grandmother story about his friends and what they did while in school and expect me to give my fullest attention although I’m in the kitchen cooking AND he’s all the way in the master bedroom. Aiyo that boy! Drives me mad sometimes. Heh.
Anyhow, he’s turning three soon (already!) and we’ve decided that this year we’ll throw a (small) party for him. :) I hope he likes the theme. Haha.

My nephew, my son, the ice-cream and the (early) birthday gift
February 11th, 2009
Irwan has been an avid cyclist eversince his school days. He used to cycle like I don’t know, 100km a day or something crazy like that back in the dayslah. Before he joined the new (crazy hours!) company, he’d cycle once a week with his buddies (Bangsar-Subang-Putrajaya and back) or (Subang-Hulu Langat and back) or (Sunway-Kesas-Sunway) or tak ingat what other routes they hadlah. So, it’s only natural that his junior wants to cycle with him too. Andddd, after asking for the longest time, Irfan has finally gotten his (new) bike. :) The smile on his face was priceless! He’s so happy with the bike that he cycles around the lanai too when we’re back in the evening. (Because I’m too malas to bring him up to cycle around the garden or pool. :P) So anyway, we brought him to Lake Garden last weekend and he was cycling up and down the hill (like very terrer-merrer like that) and that justifies the (minor) dent in Irwan’s pockets. Towards the endof his session, the lil’ dude tergolek and got himself a few scratches on his arm. :(
Went back to the same shop (Irwan’s favourite bike shop) where we got the bike and the dude was out of helmets and guards. We decided to check out the bike shop near my inlaws’ place (as we were on the way there) and I almost had a heart attack when I asked for the price of the helmet - a whopping RM150! The frock? Ish! Apparently, it’s an imported one he said. Yelah labu. Anyhow, the Sg. Way shop was much better - RM50 for helmet and RM35 for knee guards and elbow guards.
Now he’s into cars AND bikes. Apa lagi lepas ni? Hacking? As in computer hacking? :P (The father did say he wants to train the junior for it. *slaps forehead*)
Happy 34 months!

Dear budak-yang-tak-begitu-kenit-dah,
You are now 34 months old. Wheeeee.. 2 more months and we’ll see if we’ll throw a birthday bash for you. Heh.
You are enjoying every minute of your time in school - which is good news - but please play with your friends too, rather than just conversing with the adults. I know that you’ve not had any kid(s) around while growing up, but it’s really fun to play with kids your age. You should try it! :)
On another note, I’d like to thank you for agreeing to sleep on your own bed now, although you do make a fuss sometimes because you want to sleep with us, but you’ve been really good and have been sleeping on your own for the past 2 weeks or so. So yaaayyy! We’ll work on moving the bed to your own room next, ok? ;)
Anyhow, do enjoy your early birthday gift from your papa, yeah? Hopefully we can have more fun this coming (long) weekend!
x, Mama
